How to know if phone will become compatible soon?

I have an Oppo R9+. I know phone technology changes quickly. I know the Android playground is vast and full of many many different models.

My Oppo R9+ was Oppo's flagship model not much more than one year ago, and it is not compatible with Notifications for the Fitbit Ionic. Notifications was my reason for getting this "smart" watch.

I have asked Fitbit online support if the R9+ is due to become compatible any time soon. If it is, I'll keep the Ionic and look forward to it achieving its full potential "soon". They told me they couldn't tell me.

Well, the Ionic development team is either working on the Oppo R9+ or they are not. Surely someone could set up a list so that users like me could see if there's a chance their phone will become compatible.

So, Fitbit - could this be done?

If not, could you please reply and let me know specifically if a Oppo R9+ is in line for becoming compatible for notifications?

thanks (here's hoping!)
🙂

Unfortunately this is one of the things Fitbit just doesnt comment on. I know a lot of people want their phone to be compatible,  or just to know if it will be with somesort of time frame, but I think you are very unlikely to get it.  Sorry.

Probably the best thing to do is put a Feature Suggestion HERE. I could find suggestion for other Oppo phones, but not yours. The more votes it gets the more likely it is to happen.
