How to pair headphones with Ionic?

Cannot figure out how to pair my headphones using blue tooth.  I follow the instructions as given, but do not see the settings button on the smartwatch referred to.  I did find audio output, which says audio is controlled by my phone.  What does this mean? How do I pair my headphones.  I find this whole interface so outdated and unfriendly.  Can someone help me?  Thanks.

It's great to see you around @BGallop. I appreciate the details mentioned.

I'll be happy to assist you answering your question about how to pair Fitbit with your headphones. I would like you to follow these steps to link your Ionic with your headphones:

  1. Start by activating pairing mode on your Bluetooth headphones, speaker, or other audio device.
  2. On your watch, open the Settings app User-added image and then scroll down and tap Bluetooth.
  3. Tap + Audio Device. Your watch searches for nearby devices.
  4. When your watch finds nearby Bluetooth audio devices, it shows a list on the screen. Tap the name of the device you want to pair.
    User-added image

When pairing is complete, a check mark appears on the screen.

You can learn more about it by checking this article: How do I connect Bluetooth audio devices to my Fitbit watch?

Let me know how it goes. I'll be around if you need further assistance.

Hi, thanks. You basically copied the info available elsewhere on your site.
You mention "open the settings app". This does not really help because it's
impossible to find the settings app by merely looking at the screen on my
watch.

Another community member specified that you must swipe the screen left to
find the settings logo to press. Why do you not mention this in your
literature? It's so much more helpful.

But even when I went to the settings area and activate the pairing process,
the pairing keeps failing for some reason. Is there a list of compatible
headphones?

I have air pods that I use with my phone. Don't these work with this
watch? If not, it's kind of a nuisance to need a different set of
headphones for phone and for watch, just like needing different chargers.

Why not make your products more user friendly?

Thanks,
Brad

Thanks for getting back @BGallop

Your feedback is appreciated, we're always striving to improve our products and services provided.

Regarding your question about a list of compatible headphones, we don't have one. You should be able to pair your Ionic with any headphone you might be using. However, Fitbit is aware of the issue that some of you might experience when pairing your watch with headphones, we're working to identify a resolution as quickly as possible, we're sorry for any trouble.

I have air pods that I use with my phone. Don't these work with this watch? Currently, Fitbit devices can't control the volume on Apple Airpods.
