Have posted many times in an effort to get information on why the Fitbit Ionic will not Sync to my new Huawei P10 Plus phone. Fitbit continuously pushes the subject aside and does not give an answer for when the two devices will be compatible. Fitbit closes the topic as completed or approved but never tells you that it will be fixed or when. I have asked for a refund and they pretty much laughed at me. So buying a new phone and a new smart watch is apparently funny when they don't work. I have been doing a lot of research and the only reason it doesn't work is because of Fitbit. Huawei is the largest telecommunications manufacturer in the world and the second largest smart phone manufacturer behind Samsung. So the reason why the fitbit doesn't work is....still remains a mystery. Just allow me and every other person that has an ionic watch to get a refund and spend our money on something that works.

Thanks for stopping by @SunsetRunner and thank you for the thorough feedback for the Fitbit environment, customer service and devices. This has not gone unnoticed and be sure that I will pass this along.
We don't want to create frustration in our customers. Fitbit has been designed to provide motivation and help you to reach your daily goals to success. Please know that we provide feedback to our team based on community posts and we are always working on improving our devices and overall environment based on that feedback.
As you mentioned, Huawei P10 Plus is not a compatible device with the Fitbit app. This means that our Android team has not yet tested them for compatibility and added them to the list what means that we don't have a estimated date on when they will be added. However, if the device supports BLE (AKA Bluetooth 4.0), you can try the tips on the following help article: Synchronization troubleshoot, set up troubleshoot or even notifications troubleshoot.
Note that we don't guarantee that the synchronization would be will be successful as we are still testing on this phone model.
If setup does not work, I recommend setting up and syncing via a device listed as supported or using a Windows 10/Mac computer with integrated Bluetooth 4.0 running the Fitbit Software. Our Android team is always working to test and add more Android devices to the supported devices list, so keep an eye open for updates!
My sister owns a Huawei which is not yet a supported device, but she has tried the following (which I think won't hurt if you try that as well):
1. Your phone must not be set to "visible for other devices"
2. Your phone must not be "searching for other devices"
If either of these two things are active, the Fitbit cannot connect.
In other words, you have to set it to invisible, and you have to click the stop button if it is searching for devices. So, Bluetooth should be on, but not doing anything at all in the Bluetooth menu. Then force quit the Fitbit app and it'll sync. At least it has done with my sister's phone for over a month or so.
If you're able to connect your phone to your tracker but you keep having syncing issues, keep in mind that this will be due to the incompatibility of the phone. What means that the functionalities have a chance to work if you try some troubleshooting steps, I'd suggest following these steps:
If the previous steps does not work, you can also try the syncing process with a different mobile device or use the computer by downloading the Fitbit Connect software as I've suggested before.
Hope this helps, I'll be around if you need further assistance!
Was my post helpful? Give it a thumbs up to show your appreciation! Of course, if this was the answer you were looking for, don't forget to make it the Best Answer! Als...

My Huawei P10 synced normal with Ionic until the update to Fitbit OS 2.0.
It's really frustrating not being able to use the full potential of the Ionic.
I've tried all the troubleshooting without success.
Notifications aren't working period.
Syncing works occasionally after rebooting phone/Ionic.
Please, Fitbit, step up the pace of adding supported devices.

Still no response from Fitbit all these months later and still no updates. Fitbit is now in the past and everyone has been moving away from them. They have to many excuses for not working and too many bad reviews. Huawei p10 not compatible and now the p20. Fitbit is old technology and needs to be compatible with the current market. Do not buy a Fitbit if you have a new smart phone.
