I have to say (from a guys viewpoint) that to me the Ionic has won my heart. Luv the design, easy changeable bands, GPS, Bluetooth music to my Jabra BT headset and the simplicity of the interface.
I only miss the voice cues for distance, time, pace, pulse when running and hope for an update tha solves some minor bugs.
I’ve tried Samsung gear sport, Apple Watch 3, Garmin forerunner 645 music, Fitbit Versa. But the Ionic wins.

I haven't tried it yet but the Ionic has Exercise cues. Have yo set it up?
On the Dashboard click on the gear and scroll down to Exercise Cues.Use the drop down and select what you want.
It should at least buzz you. But Like I said I haven't tried it yet. Will later today
I also love the Ionic
I have used it on Workout mode and it does Buzz you

@SunsetRunner, if you run with your phone you will get voice cues if you turn on mobile run and use your phone's GPS.
The Ionic obviously does not have the ability to talk to you, so if you use its GPS to track your run you will not get voice cues, but you will get a gentle vibration at the interval and type you set in your app, as mentioned above.
On your app choose your Ionic icon, and go to exercise shortcuts. Choose your exercise (in this case run) and choose your cue type (distance, time, calories) and then how often. Be sure to sync once you have made any changes.
I have to say that I do sometimes miss the cue, as the vibration is very gentle. But I also really enjoy using the Ionic.

I also love my ionic. I tried the gear sport for a month and tho the smart watch features are great, I just couldn't stay away from my ionic.
My only gripe is I want to be able to reply to text outside of just quick replies(and not many), and the proprietary connection for the bands. Maybe also get that SpO2 function working.
But the fitness tracking is top notch and the smartchwatch/apps is growing.
