I am all done with fitbit. I had a defective Ionic last year, they sent me a refurbished watch face, not even a new Ionic, a refurbished one! Well this one the button on the left stopped working, it keeps dimming on me even though today it's set to auto, have had it on max as well, it switches back to dim on its own. I called them after dealing with this for a few weeks, it is under one year old. But their warranty is only on the first product you purchased, not on the piece of junk they sent me to replace my warrantied item. They offered me a 35% discount on my next purchase.
There are too many others that stand behind their merchandise for me to bother with Fitbit any longer.

Sorry about your troubles, but the warranty is from the initial purchase; the end date does not change when getting a replacement.

Well that sucks that they send you a refurbished one that is defective. As I said earlier I am done with fitbit. Their warranty should include a new replacement not a piece of junk

To be 100% fair you are sending them a used device and they are sending you back a refurbished device. If warranties sent out brand new devices, the prices of things would go up to compensate for the hit to profit margins. Refurbished devices make sense when warranty claims are against used devices. Now if it failed in just a month from purchase or something, I would argue a new device is fully justified.
I don't mind a refurbished device, but most times I have to go back at least once for another replacement. It's like they send the crap refurbs and then for the few of us that complain they send a nicer refurb as a second attempt. I can't help but to think this is done on purpose. Not saying this is Fitbit doing this, just my experience with various warranty repairs across many companies. I actually use warranties to the fullest extent, most people just throw things out (which is what they would rather you do obviously).

Funnily enough I actually had my Versa repaired under Warranty and just got it back, but by Squaretrade. I sent it in the first time, just for a battery swap. They didn't even open the device. Just sent it back in the exact same condition with documentation acting like it was repaired. I took a picture of the battery level and put tamper evident marks on the casing because this isn't my first rodeo and I know how these companies play games.
I starting pressing customer support and finally they admitted "Sorry sir there is no actual evidence that we opened your device, you will have to send it back." Yet they sent me an invoice and repair order in the box implying that was the case.
How many people do you think this happens to and don't even notice or care? I bet it saves them tons of money to just literally take the claims and wrap them back up and send them out if its a non obvious repair. I complained and sure enough a nicely refurbished unit is sent immediately. Typical insurer, will wiggle out by hook or crook.

I sent them back a defective device, I bought it brand new, after two months it stopped working. If they advertise their warranty, they should stand by it. Like when I buy a pair of hiking boots, when they are defective, I will bring them back, they will give me a NEW pair of boots, not a refurbished pair. I also had another warranty issue with another company, they sent me a brand new item. I spend good money and expect the product to work, if it doesn't then I will write to the company. There are some products that are defective, and the companies need to stand by their warranty. Like I said, I am done with Fitbit, they don't stand behind what they sell, in just over a year, I have had two defective Ionic watches.

My original enquiry was about the watch not charging, after speaking to customer services and trying all the tests I was told fitbit would be in touch.while redoing the tests I found it was the charger lead so got back to cutomer services to inform them what the problem was.My next reply thanked me and informed me the device I had received was not covered .I had the watch for 8 months bought NEW from ONBUY the seller was 2GREAT2GET I have emailed both company's and had no reply The watch is working fine I would like to know how fitbit can sell something with a 2YEAR guarantee and then say it is not at there own choice ,they have still not explained Looks like three companies to avoid. I had already bought a new strap as I accept somethings are not covered but for them to say a watch bought NEW had no warranty did not sound right

I kind of get the approved Sellers list.
Let's say I randomly come across a firesale in a local retail shop of Fitbit (or other) devices. I buy the entire supply and then subsequently put them on eBay, marking them up to make a small profit myself.
From the buyers perspective I am a reseller. That viewpoint is obvious.
From the Manufacturers point I am the end consumer. Buying something in retail isn't generally what people who are reselling stuff do. So from that perspective, even though I am reselling it, the manufacturer and original retailer intended the package to be sold to the end user from the current seller. From that perspective, the warranty starts when the original retail sale takes place. Regardless of whether or not that "unapproved" reseller actually bought them to resell them, not consume them. How does the manufacturer know I intended to resell the item and to "hold" the warranty until I then resell it? They don't. Hence the approved list.
The Certified lists are just companies that the manufacturer expects to actually resell their products, not just ones that do it ad-hoc from an existing retail channel.

Approved sellers list, how did this become a topic on my original thread? I have only dealt with Fit Bit, right from their web site. Once again, my problem is that my fitbit stopped working well before my year warranty. They, Fit bit, not an approved seller sent me a refurbished watch. That also stopped working properly before my year warranty on my original purchase.
