If I pick it up at the store today, is there anyway I can return the pre-order and have Fitbit eat the shipping cost? Only seems fair since they failed to deliver by street date.

A warm welcome to the Community @EWC115! You can check your order status by using the tracking number that's in your order, if it shipped from Fedex then check the website. There you can find when it's the expected deliver date.
If you already bought your tracker and don't want to wait for Fitbit, then you can just refuse the package (verbally or by way of note).
