I was told all Ionics have sn inflated heart rate ( including ones being sold as of 31 July 2018)

Starting on or about 111 July 2018 my Ionic started giving me about double my normal resting heart beat.  I chatted with fitbit help on 16 July.  I explained the situation.  They gave me a bunch of things to do like turning the HB off and on, power down, reset etc. to no avail.  Through data, they were able ti see my situation.  Then they noted that my experience was that of a lit of others.  They gave me a case #:25806484 and said to wait for an update and to keep my tracker and app updated.  Since they have my contact information, I asked if they could email me when a fix is available- No!  I was to keep checking.  I called today August 1st 2018 and went through the whole thing again and was told the same.  They told me, I spoke to an online manager too, that ALL IONICS are experiencing my problem.  I asked if they were still selling the Ionics with the problem and they said “yes”. - doesn’t seem right to me.  So are all you Ionic users seeing this?  I din’t personally know snyone who had one.  Oh, and I got another case # too and I was told to keep checking for updates.  My sync device is an iphone if that matters here.  Believe me, I try to walk about 3-5 miles a day but I’am not that active. My normal resting hear rTe is 55-65 and the Ionic shows like 110-140 or so.   Also it shows me burning about 6-7K calories a day - Ha!  I hope to hear from you.

I have the same problem. It has been going on for months giving me false readings, I know this because I have calculated my average BPM. It registers a heart rate when I take it off and it says that my average resting BPM is 90+ but it's on average 56.

Not only this but I have issues syncing so I don't get notifications or they are late and only pop up when I manually sync.

I have emailed Fitbit today explaining  the situation and hope to resolve the issue or I'll not be shopping here again in future. I'll rather buy an apple phone and get an apple watch than this.

definitely not all. I have a RHR of 45-49, and I see this very accurately recorded by the Ionic. The wrist HR monitor is usually really good on this device.

I bought my Ionic at the end of May and it is totally OK so far.

I don't have any hardware problem - updates went well, HR is as it should be, steps count is accurate etc. I use Samsung S7 phone with Oreo.

Note what starts to happen on 11 July 2018.  I did not wear the Ionic 27-29 July.

Here is what the Fitbit team tells me about this.  Also, they tell me all Ionics are affected.   Yet they would continue to sell them - huh?  They told me a firmware/software fix will fix this and they will not give me a replacement under warranty because again, all Fitbit Ionics have this problem.  Don't by a Fitbit Ionic and maybe you should stay away from Fitbit all together.  Here is the response by the Fitbit team:

Thanks for contacting us back.

I'm part of the Ionic department team and I'll be happy to continue assisting you. I'd like to inform you that we’re currently working to resolve this issue and hope to have a fix soon. Be sure to keep your Fitbit device and app up-to-date to ensure you receive the quickest resolution.

We're sorry for any inconvenience this has caused. We appreciate your patience and look forward to getting you back on track.

Please let us know if there's anything we can do to assist you in the meantime.

Sincerely,
Benjamin V. and the Fitbit Team
