I wish it had a TRIATHLON function

a note to Fitbit - it would be GREAT if the Ionic had a TRIATHLON function, particularly for race day, where you could start the race and merely press the button to log your interval times, switch from swim to transition 1, transition 1 to bike, bike to transition 2, transition 2 to the RUN function without having to stop the overall clock. seems like it could be an easy add with a big audience, you already have the tech built-in.

and also, adding INTERVAL timing to the SWIM function would be great too for training. or at least giving you more data once concluded (automatically timing a variety of preset intervals). hope you like the feedback!!! please consider! THANKS

If you are truly interested in triathlons, not sure why you would even consider a Fitbit. Garmin has been producing tri watches for years. Fitbit’s market has mostly been about folks interested in getting 10,000 steps a day. You can find some older version Garmin Tri watches cheaper than the Ionic and will get you what you need. Fitbit has a ways to go in developing a watch for triathletes, and honestly, for serious runners.

great note, thanks for letting me know. i'm a novice so i'm learning on the fly. should have done more homework! still feels like the Ionic has potential to carry these functions a little better. hopefully they can incorporate.

Regardless of there being others on the market already doing it I agree. The ionic is not far from it now. It has the GPS, the accelerometers & now waterproof. With open source developing of apps I would have thought it won't be long before someone develops a Tri specific app. Fingers crossed it won't be too long. It looks good, doesn't feel like a big plastic cookie on your arm & has the processor to cope. £240 of 400 for a garmin.

Completely agree. I've done tris for a decade and have used Garmin all along. I picked up an Ionic as an everyday device, but it seems like it would be very easy to develop a tri specific function. I like its sleekness and it's interface. At the minimum, just developing the ability to cycle through the events and transitions. If it could capture more data (power meter, for instance), even better.
