My Iconic is pretty much not recording stairs when I'm using trekking poles. I gained about 3,500ft just map topo difference and get 27 flights of stairs. The next day I tried putting it in my pocket. For about 3,000ft gain, I got about 100 flights of stairs. Later in the week, with it on my wrist, I got 0 for 3,300ft gain. What can I do to get it to accurately track my climb?.

Before we look at stairs. let's understand what they are.
A change in altitude of 10 feet over a short period of time . Unfortunately we do not know the maximum time this change in altitude has to be done.
Stairs are also only looked for while walking and holding hiking popes often keep the arm from moving in a that steps are not consistantly counted .
Now let's go to your hike record on the web at Fitbit.com/activities on the map you will find a record of chsngescin altitude.

So when are you going to fix your algorithm so it understands trekking poles? It makes your products sort of useless for backpackers.
The web and phone track are not showing any elevation. In fact they mostly aren't showing any exercise. Two days they report I biked which I didn't
Lots of change in elevation change. Look at the number in my original post. Much of that was a %20 or better grade.

I'm not planning on fixing it, and it is not my product.
This is a community of Fitbit users.
As Fitbit users we donate our time to help our fellow Fitbit users. We do not have access to the algorithms .And therefore will not be able to "fix" this.
