About 2 weeks ago my fitbit stopped giving me sleep stages bc it said it could not get a consistent heart rate while I was sleeping. Over the last week it is not accurately reading my heart rate. At rest it can read up to 170 bpm & intense cardio at 114. I have manually checked my heart rate & it is significantly different from Fitbit readings. I have tried resetting it, but no change. I have had it almost 2 years, and have never had any trouble with it until now. I wear it the same as always, so placement or tightness on my wrist is not an issue. Any and all help with this is appreciated. Thanks.

Welcome to the Community @gymmom3. Thanks for the details mentioned and the troubleshooting tried.
I appreciate that you mentioned you're still wearing your Ionic in the same place than before. In this case, I would like you to make sure you've tried these tips to improve the accuracy of your heart-rate reading on your Fitbit device.
Let me know how it goes.

Thank you for your response and suggestions to solve the problem. Unfortunately it’s still not working correctly. I spent some time on the phone today with customer service, and they were unable to find a successful solution. I was told technicians were aware of the problem, and they would be working to fix it. The problem I had with this is that the customer service agent could not give me any sort of time frame, and just said it would be in a future update loaded into the app. I can’t wait for a “maybe we can fix this” with zero timeframe. I’ve had the watch almost 2 years & got a lot of good use out of it. It seems to have just run its course. I was hopeful it could be fixed, and maybe one day it will be so others don’t experience the same thing. I’m looking into getting the new Versa. Thanks again for your response. I greatly appreciate it.

Mine set a new run-away record today of over 500 bpm.....it was interesting that the logged exercise period peaked at only 213. As soon as I exited the exercise mode and returned to regular wear mode it started recording what I would call normal BPM...seems like a bug with the exercise app. Like many I've tried everything suggested and nothing seems to have this resolved. Very disappointed that this has not been resolved yet. Garmin's looking better all the time.....

All three of my Fitbit "smart" watches have always done this. Just when I really want to push it and see how high I can push my heart rate, it drops to 110 or stops reading all together.
So I don't have a solution, but you are lucky if yours really works correctly usually.
