I have the ionic and my husband has charge 3. We play golf together side by side and ionic will have about 4000-5000 less steps when we finish. Why so much difference?

Hi @Joybell2, good to see you in the community.
At a guess I would say that your husbands Charge 3 may be counting more arm movements as steps. You mention this is whilst playing golf, so this is very plausible and a limitation of a wrist based tracker. I find that my Charge 3 seems to be a little bit more sensitive than my Ionic, so you (your husband) could be seeing a similar thing during the golf session.
I would suggest that your husband change his wrist placement setting to dominant, this should make the Charge 3 a little less sensitive.
The only real option to provent any arm movements counting towards steps (during an activity involving lots of arm movements) would be to wear a clip based tracker, like the Inspire in the clip accessory. Of course this isn't an issue exclusive to fitbit, all wrist based trackers would struggle in such a situation.
