Ionic - 2 issues. Will not sync any longer to Samsung S7 and watch reboots during excersize.

I have tried reboot / delete app/ reload app tricks and still no sync with Samsung S7.  I get the blue circle when trying to enter wifi settings in the app.  Ionic has rebooted on its own twice in the last week during exercise.  I am growing increasingly frustrated and do not wish to reset the watch to factory settings. Please help.

Hello @SunsetRunner , I'm trying to follow you and see three are more issues being reported

Blue circle showing someplace when seeing up wifi,  your ionic does not use wifi to sync. Wifi is used for syncing music,  updating apps, and firmware while the ionic is having its battery charged.

The ionic reboots during exercise, with no mention of what exercise, how full the battery was before, or which of the possible 4 different modes was being used to record the exercise. If using GPS make sure that the battery has enough charge before heading out.

Your title mentions a sync issue, I assume this is the main issue.

Factory resetting the ionic would be the very last step to try,

Removing the ionic from your Fitbit account will only add more problems.

Try these steps

If you sync through more than one device make sure only one of them are nearby or only one device with their bluetooth on

Check for updates to your phone and Fitbit AP.

Clear the phones cache

Reboot the phone, Android still has problems releasing memory.

Reboot the Ionic.

Try with the phone connected to wifi then through cellular.

Through the phone settings stop the Fitbit app, simply swiping off the screen will not close the Fitbit services.

Shutdown the phone, then shutdown the ionic.

I would try the above steps individually since it is probably only one step that fixes the issue. Next time that would be the step I first try.

These steps are not all recommended by Fitbit but have been found, by Fitbit users,  to resolve sync issues.

Thank you for the reply.  I exhausted all those attempts (and others) and removed the Ionic and am attempting to reload it.  I now get to the step of setting up the Ionic by providing the 4 digit number on the display.  I enter the digits and then get the 'connecting' with a perpetual blue circle...forever spinning and never connecting.  All wifi / bluetooth is on / rebooted / turned off-on/cache cleared.  Factory reset of watch?  I would rather not.  It was working perfectly and all of the sudden it stopped syncing two days ago. Any other suggestions / tips for Samsung S7 and Ionic sync would be greatly appreciated.
