Ionic Buzzing & Showing Screen Every Few Seconds

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My ionic started to buzz and show a scree that shows screen wake and notifications every few seconds. I restarted it. It is draining my batteries since the display shows every single time it buzzes. I will hit the back button and it will buzz immediately. Help.

So, I have learned NOT to hit the back button. To check time, I click one of the up/down buttons. Unfortunately, if it locks on that one screen, you have to hit the back button. As far as I can tell, everything else is working. It is calculating the steps and activity as well as sleep. Mine was 15 months old when this happened and I have to say that it is ridiculous to pay $275 for something that does not function properly for more than 2 years.

I have to say the Surge I bought in 2015 did not make it through 2017 before the battery stopped holding a charge, this Ionic acts like it is possessed after less than two years, my wife has an Alta she bought at the same time I bought the Ionic and that is starting to have battery problems. I guess fitbit wouldn't make money if these things lasted. It's like that thing where Apple and Samsung got caught on with the FW updates that made their older devices run slow.

Hi. My name is Paul by the way. Agree. Tech seems to get better at doing stuff but trade off is life span gets less. A deliberate strategy I think to get more sales. Waiting for my replacement

Obviously with everyone complaining of the same problem, there appears to be some type of software problem not hardware. Wonder why FitBit won't acknowledge this and put a fix out?

By the way, I changed my clock face on my watch yesterday, and the problem disappeared.

Thanks for the info about clock face. I have the standard one when you set it to being with so that isn't my issue, but I'll try. Which clock face did you change to?

I agree about no one even looking into this. Not one moderator has attempted to even respond to this thread nor a message I sent to one. Poor customer service.

I had one of the very first FitBit watches. It went on recall because of a skin irritation. I kept mine but in 11 months, it would no longer sync. They sent a replacement. The replacement lasted 14 months. I bought another one. The only one they had at the time was the low-level due to skin irritation with that same one I originally had. The battery died on that one in 13 months. When I complained, they sent me an Alta for shipping only. That one lasted 15 months. I got another one that belonged to my mother: Charge HR. The band fell apart but by the time that happened, it was out of warranty. I got a Polar with the HR monitor in 1999 and it still works today. I doesn't record steps and I hate wearing the chest strap all of the time, but clearly the technology is better in that. Last March, I got an Ionic because I got a discount in the email (not a big one, but enough to take off about $35). It is June (13 months later) and now I am having problems. They sent me another voucher for %off  and I have 30 days to decide, but do I really want to continue with this game? My husband has a Garmin that does almost all of the same things (no sleep tracking). It is 5 years old and still works. I have been using his lately since my Ionic seems to want to buzz all of the time. It is really strange that FitBit wouldn't want to keep customers. I read so many POOR reviews mainly about product quality. Something needs fixing.

I switched it to Pride Flare.

nice to meet you too. It sounds like a journey of failed fitbit experience.
Well I will see how long the replacement lasts. Like you, used polar for 20 years with a small gap of tying garmin. Have to say polar are very good but they have not cracked the strapless tech yet. MAybe when my replacement packs up in 11 months, they will have. 🙂

My issue just started today.    Ionic goes into Run workout screen, then keeps buzzing and flashing "Nothing new here".    Tried suggestions in this post, but problem continues 😞

If it helps, I changed my existing Clock face to something else and the problem went away.
