Ionic Counting 200,000+ steps and no HRM. Resets and firmware updates not helping fix the problem

I have an Ionic for a while, but I have never used it because it constantly counts an infinite number of steps (currently at 191,000 steps, looks like it's gonna be another 300,000+ step day for me!) and the HRM does not work. I've contact customer support several times to factory reset the device and update the firmware, but none of it has worked. Now whenever I try to contact the support line, it gives me a 404 error.

 

Has anyone found a solution to fix their Ionic? Or will it just remain a very expensive drawer decoration?

 

p.s.The Ionic sits on a table with no vibrations, so that is not the cause of the issue.

Don't know how, but I got it to update to the latest firmware. Now it won't track steps or heart rate. Still broken, but I guess that's progress
