Ionic Died & Nothing Works to Resurrect It

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I was doing nothing in particular today when I noticed that my Ionic (purchased April 2018) simply wasn’t working. I knew it wasn’t a battery issue, as I’d just charged it in the morning. Of course I’ve looked at the forum and have tried all the restart and charging suggestions, but still nothing works. There are no lights on the back that still light up on mine (as seems to the case for other people who have encountered this problem). It’s just dead.

What do I do?

Contact support via their phone number or chat, you might get lucky and get a one time replacement. The reality is you are likely only going to be offered a 25% discount on a new device despite the fact that this is a known issue that Fitbit should be handling regardless of warranty.

Thanks for the suggestion, If they don’t offer to replace it, I don’t know that I will buy Fitbit again though. I cannot afford to shell out a couple hundred dollars every 18 months for a new fitness tracker.

To follow up: I called customer service and was told there’s nothing they can do because 15 months is beyond the 12 month warranty. Of course they offered the discount on a new product but there’s no way in hell I’d buy another product from this company. Ever.

The same thing happened to me and my wife, she had a Versa and for me it was an Ionic Addiidas edition, Fitdit replaced the Ionic offered a 50% discount on another model, my conclusion is that the trackers don't last more than 12 - 18 months, don't know if it is the hardware or the software as they seem to die after a software update.

After reading these responses and getting zero support beyond the 25% discount from Fitbit customer service, I ordered a Garmin 235. No more Fitbits ever for me or mine. So disappointed.
