Fitbit Update: Fitbit OS2.1 has been released to 100% of users!
Hi all!
I am excited to announce the release of Fitbit OS 2.1! (Firmware Version: 27.32.10.15)
We've started to roll out this update to 10% of Ionic users. This is a progressive rollout, and all Ionic users can expect to have it within a few weeks. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.
WHAT’S NEW
Introducing quick replies. Send customized responses to text messages and messages from select messaging apps with your Fitbit watch. Note that this feature is currently only available on watches paired to an Android phone. For more information, see How do I respond to messages with my Fitbit watch?
This release includes other bug fixes and improvements.
Step by step instructions for updating your Ionic can be found here.
I recommend updating your Ionic over a home Wi-Fi network as this can greatly reduce the time it can take to get set up. For more information on connecting your Ionic to Wi-Fi, check out this article.
If you run into any trouble updating your Ionic, I can also recommend reviewing these troubleshooting tips.
Looking forward to hearing everyone's feedback on the latest release. If you have any questions, feel free to let me know!

@SunsetRunner
It does disappear from iPhones which you can reply. I can only see one text. Once a new text comes in the previous one is gone from my watch. So basically my watch only stores one text at a time

So, that's appears to be an IOS issue, and not a Fitbit issue because it works as as expected with my Samsung S8.

That is what I was trying to figure out. I still have a Samsung Galaxy III phone (that I love) and I am wondering if that is why I am not able to see a reply option on either the Fitbit app on the phone or on my ionic. Thanks! I may just have to break down and upgrade my phone!

My Ionic did not complete a successful calibration, ever.
It now no longer prompts me to calibrate.
(just clarifying the behavior, it is *not* prompting me to calibrate anymore)
I'm wondering if the watch is in some sort of limbo? Nothing has changed, that I can tell, with regard to the tracking accuracy that I was accustomed to.
On a brighter note, I LOVE that the text message notifications are automatically removed from the Ionic once I view them on my phone. yahoo!

@MattFitbit thanks for the detailed response. I just want to reiterate, android messages app was not working on OS 6.0.1, but is now working on a device running 7.1.2.
Signal app was receiving notifications on OS 6.0.1, but is no longer 7.1.2. I imagine it is the same issue affecting message+.
Good luck. Looking forward to these fixes.

But are they going to fix it and all the other issues or just keep selling with these bugs?

Quick Replies are not working at all for gmail which should be the most basic application for replies. I receive the notification and when I open the message I get two buttons "Archive" and "Clear" that's it. I'm running the latest Android 8.1 on a Pixel 2 phone.
I do get quick replies with Hangout messages but that's it.
Trillian messages are received and I get a reply button but nothing is sent out.
Gmail replies should be a minimum requirement to work.

Heart rate monitoring no longer works at all and I am losing my patience. I have been a loyal customer and was extremely excited to get an ionic but after nothing but issues every time they push a buggy broken featureless firmware release I am closer and closer to abandoning Fitbit entirely,
The fact that they manage to break the core functionality of their product with an update on a closed platform is an incredible achievement.

Welcome to our club, we all wait a feedback from Fitbit regarding this faulty firmware update. For now we all have expensive bracelets...

Ever since I updated to the last OS, my Ionic has been working flawlessly. My notifications always come through now. On the previous OS, my notifications would randomly stop working, but no longer. I also noticed that the battery life is a bit better, although it was always pretty good. I can get 4 to 5 days without issue.
I use a BlackBerry KEYone running Android 7.1. I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it, but BlackBerry Android is a very "stock" version of Android plus all the BlackBerry hardware and security enhancements.
There you have it... my Ionic is better than before, and I really don't notice any bugs anymore. It is very puzzling how the user experience is so different for many people.
