UPDATE: Fitbit OS 2.0 has been released to 100% of users.

Hi all!

I am excited to announce the release of Fitbit OS 2.0! (Firmware Version: 27.32.4.19)

We've started to roll out this update to 10% of Ionic users. This is a progressive rollout, and all Ionic users can expect to have it within a few weeks. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.

What’s New

Fitbit Today:

Introducing Fitbit Today, an updated on-device dashboard that keeps you informed about all of your health and fitness data. Receive action-oriented and personalized content with daily and weekly health and fitness stats, historical activity, exercise summaries, and tips and tricks for using the Fitbit platform. Swipe up from the clock face to open the Fitbit Today dashboard.

Ionic users, your daily stats have moved from the Today app to Fitbit Today.

Music:

You can now add Deezer playlists to your Fitbit watch. For more information on setting up your Deezer playlists on Ionic, check out this article

What’s Changed

Fitbit Watch Interface:

We made some updates to the way you interact with your Fitbit watch:

  • To see your notifications, swipe down from the clock face or press and hold the top button.
  • To see your stats and current battery level, swipe up from the clock face.
  • To access music controls, payments, and the shortcuts screen, press and hold the back button.
  • Access your music controls all on one screen.
  • We’ve changed the order of some of the apps on your watch.

To learn more about these changes, open the Tips app on your watch and follow the tutorial.

Instructions for updating your Ionic can be found here.

I recommend updating your Ionic over a home Wi-Fi network as this can greatly reduce the time it can take to get set up. For more information on connecting your Ionic to Wi-Fi, check out this article

Looking forward to hearing everyone's feedback on the latest release. If you have any questions, feel free to let me know!

All you can do is wait and contact them direct. I also have 4 products and have had nothing but issues over the years, I think today is the last straw, I’ve got no tracker now, I’ve spend half the day trying to sort and nothing. Lots of people are complaining

Hi everyone. I just spoke to tech support and was told my update didn't go thru correctly because I had more than 15 apps installed. I was unaware there was a limit. She told me to get rid of some and try a hard reboot. I don't remember seeing anywhere there was an app install limit. Not sure why it would let u install that many if it did not support them. Oh well, hope the hard reset works when I get home today.

I’m not sure that would apply to me. I haven’t added any apps to my Fitbit. It’s just the few that came on it from the factory are installed. I’ll just keep waiting and see what happens.

Doesn't work for me either on 2.0.  Top button is Notifications and Bottom button doesn't do anything.

Same.

But aside from that, my update went really well and I love the new "Today" feature.  Everything working great so far for me.

Deezer - awesome to finally have it but...

What's the deal with limited number of playlists available for uploading to ionic? I've got 300 playlists on.my Deezer account, I can see only 20 available for upload in Fitbit app...

This update failed, I've tried for 24 hrs, multiple reboots, chats etc... Nothing is working I do not want to factory reset... This is ridiculous too much time, stress and ,$$$ for this crap.

I updated this morning in about 30 minutes with no issues.  Really like the updated interface.  Moved my apps around with no issues.

I also updated to the latest Windows client.  Syncing seems to work great at the moment and I finally have the Wallet feature, unfortunately I am with Citibank but when you add support for that card I will be happy to test.

Thanks for the frequent updates.  Things are definitely improving 🙂

I tried to download it yesterday. Left it for 2 hours and after it was stuck I tried to reset but it did not work. I had to do a factory reset. Very annoying. I am now not going to do anything for at least a few weeks until I see that there are no longer any issues. Very frustrating with a product I love when it works!

I have tried everything I’m still stuck with a green screen, can someone tell me what to do for a factory reset? Is it just uninstall then reinstall your Fitbit? I’ve done everything I’m still stuck. Every Fitbit I’ve had (4) has had issues. I’m getting sick of all the hassle and down time and me having to try and fix!

Just got the new update with Deezer. how do I get rid of it? I hate the new GUI. Why does everything change constantly? None of the directions pertain to this new update. Also, my auto on seems to be turned off and I cannot find how to turn it back on. Seriously considering taking a hammer to this thing.

Tracyx, see HERE for Factory Reset instructions.  Be aware that your tracker will be returned to exactly how it was when you originally  opened the box.

foobar99, you can uninstall Deezer in the Apps section of your Ionic Settings.  For "Screen Wake" adjustments, hold down left button until the Screen Wake setting screen appears.

Update went as expected using Windows 10 Desktop App. Tutorial and calibration both ran afterwards and seems to be working as expected.

Hi Fitbit,

First, thank you for the new Ionic Firmware release - 27.32.4.19. It seems to be a positive improved update compare to the previous update that created furious rage against Fitbit due to all the sync issues etc etc.

Fitbit has a lot more to improve in order to give the customers some value for the money! The Ionic still remains as a beta product. Even after this update Fitbit seems to ignore the customers wishes!

Its not possible to access your musicplayer if you have started a workout, and you cant change music playlist either if the workout has started. n order to do so, you still need to start the musicplayer before you start the workout, or you wont access any music. You cant access any other apps on the Ionic after you have started a workout session.Thats just lame! Then you still have the sync problems, the unacurate GPS and a HR-sensor with lots of issues.

I'll give you som credits for the improved today function by swiping upwards, but Fitbit are still far from making the Ionic worth $300, not even $100 because it still remains as a beta version.
