UPDATE: Fitbit OS 2.0 has been released to 100% of users.
Hi all!
I am excited to announce the release of Fitbit OS 2.0! (Firmware Version: 27.32.4.19)
We've started to roll out this update to 10% of Ionic users. This is a progressive rollout, and all Ionic users can expect to have it within a few weeks. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.
What’s New
Fitbit Today:
Introducing Fitbit Today, an updated on-device dashboard that keeps you informed about all of your health and fitness data. Receive action-oriented and personalized content with daily and weekly health and fitness stats, historical activity, exercise summaries, and tips and tricks for using the Fitbit platform. Swipe up from the clock face to open the Fitbit Today dashboard.
Ionic users, your daily stats have moved from the Today app to Fitbit Today.
Music:
You can now add Deezer playlists to your Fitbit watch. For more information on setting up your Deezer playlists on Ionic, check out this article.
What’s Changed
Fitbit Watch Interface:
We made some updates to the way you interact with your Fitbit watch:
To learn more about these changes, open the Tips app on your watch and follow the tutorial.
Instructions for updating your Ionic can be found here.
I recommend updating your Ionic over a home Wi-Fi network as this can greatly reduce the time it can take to get set up. For more information on connecting your Ionic to Wi-Fi, check out this article.
If you run into any trouble updating your Ionic, I can also recommend reviewing these troubleshooting tips.
Looking forward to hearing everyone's feedback on the latest release. If you have any questions, feel free to let me know!

I updated today and immediately the watch stopped syncing with my phone and all of my saved cards were deleted from the app. Strava was also changed to unauthorized, so my run from this morning is not in Strava.
I had to reset my watch to get it to sync. I do this so often, it's ridiculous.
I'm going to second the vote for being able to access music while doing a workout. I should at least be able to skip a song while I'm running.
I'd also like some audio cues. It's great that the watch can give me a cue when I reach 1 mile, but even a beep or something to alert me would be much more helpful than the vibration. I miss that vibration when I'm running. Also, what's the point of 8 alarms when they don't have the option to make any sounds. Likewise, the coach function sounds cool, but without any noise to alert you, it's not that functional.

I think 2.0 is very nice. Quicker, which I like. And most of my stats are on my watchface.

Didn't find any useful improvements for me personally with this update. Some may have wanted these changes so yippee for them. I'd prefer you to concentrate on fixing the functionality bugs rather than the bells and whistles. Been promising a fix for bad heart rate readings for several months but mine is still giving me inaccurate readings during exercises 98 percent of the time. When are you going to fix that?

I downloaded 27.32.4.19, Fitbit OS 2.0, to my Ionic early this morning (like just after midnight).
No problems SO FAR with Synching -- over Wi-Fi with a Google Pixel 2 running Android 8.1.
Haven't checked out GPS today. My day off.
I did a post on my blog with PICTURES: https://nhlifefree.com/2018/03/20/my-fitbit-ionic-is-now-running-fitbit-os-2-0-with-firmware-version...
I will keep you updated.
ALL THE BEST.
Cheers, Anura

Finally, after two days of fussinig with this update, it actually worked. I spend hours and hours reading all the posts and trying all the suggestions offered in this forum but each time after about 45 minutes of running the update, I would receive a failed notice.
When doing a factory reset, I noticed that my watch somehow had acquired my wife's macbook IP address. Once I removed that and set up the wi-fi under my PC IP, the update took.
This was a very strange solution but anyone still having problems after trying all the recommendations, make sure that your tracker has the correct IP address.

@Balsamwrote:Hi Fitbit,
First, thank you for the new Ionic Firmware release - 27.32.4.19. It seems to be a positive improved update compare to the previous update that created furious rage against Fitbit due to all the sync issues etc etc.
Fitbit has a lot more to improve in order to give the customers some value for the money! The Ionic still remains as a beta product. Even after this update Fitbit seems to ignore the customers wishes!
Its not possible to access your musicplayer if you have started a workout, and you cant change music playlist either if the workout has started. n order to do so, you still need to start the musicplayer before you start the workout, or you wont access any music. You cant access any other apps on the Ionic after you have started a workout session.Thats just lame! Then you still have the sync problems, the unacurate GPS and a HR-sensor with lots of issues.
I'll give you som credits for the improved today function by swiping upwards, but Fitbit are still far from making the Ionic worth $300, not even $100 because it still remains as a beta version.
When you have started your music, then start your workout session, you can press and hold the back button and get your music controls.
Personally I always start my music before my run session whether I am using any device.

What's the easiest way to start a new exercise? I used to be able to simply click the bottom right button to launch, and kept my most-used exercise at the top of the list. Now that button seems to do the coach which I don't want. Any way to change this behavior? Better yet, make that button configurable? Never going to use coach, so it's a wasted button.
Granted, it's not "hard" to start the exercise app, but there's a lot of swiping/tapping/top/bottom button routines that are a bit long to start/stop exercises. When you're sweaty or out in the sun, would be easier to have a consistent/easy way to start/stop exercises with as little swiping and on-screen pushes as possible.
(Also, so far another problem is the snappiness seems gone. If I want to see battery level, assuming not integrated on watch face, I have to swipe up to today? But that unloads the watch face and it's too slow going back and forth.)

bhwolf, the right buttons are still programmable just as before. For your purpose, move the Exercise App to the lower left of the first page of Apps and it will open with a push of the lower right button. If you want to program the upper right button, move the App you desire to open to the upper left of the first App page.

A full day since the upgrade to the new OS 2 firmware, and no problems were encountered. The tracked didn't crash during the exercise mode, and it syncs to the Android app 2.67.2 faster than it did before the upgrade. Still getting used to the new screens, but everything worked.

I congratulate anybody who got deezer to work. This looks to be another immmature introduction. I think I entered the fricking code about a dozen times, and that's all it ever lets me do. Went through the trouble of creating a deezer account. What a waste of time.

I have updated my ionic. A few issues.
1. I can't for the life of me find the battery level indicator. It says to swipe up from the time and I have tried this but it doesn't work. I used to swipe to the right and it worked. Any help appreciated.
2. Why do I keep getting numbers 1-10 set out like a phone. Does this have something to do with me trying to set up wallet (none of my banks seemed to be acceptable)?
Any help appreciated

Hi there
Does anybody have issues with syncing deezer music on their watch?
I tried several times (x10 at least) and just once succeeded (even though didn't sync all the music).
Does anyone know how to solve this problem?
