UPDATE: Fitbit OS 2.0 has been released to 100% of users.
Hi all!
I am excited to announce the release of Fitbit OS 2.0! (Firmware Version: 27.32.4.19)
We've started to roll out this update to 10% of Ionic users. This is a progressive rollout, and all Ionic users can expect to have it within a few weeks. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.
What’s New
Fitbit Today:
Introducing Fitbit Today, an updated on-device dashboard that keeps you informed about all of your health and fitness data. Receive action-oriented and personalized content with daily and weekly health and fitness stats, historical activity, exercise summaries, and tips and tricks for using the Fitbit platform. Swipe up from the clock face to open the Fitbit Today dashboard.
Ionic users, your daily stats have moved from the Today app to Fitbit Today.
Music:
You can now add Deezer playlists to your Fitbit watch. For more information on setting up your Deezer playlists on Ionic, check out this article.
What’s Changed
Fitbit Watch Interface:
We made some updates to the way you interact with your Fitbit watch:
To learn more about these changes, open the Tips app on your watch and follow the tutorial.
Instructions for updating your Ionic can be found here.
I recommend updating your Ionic over a home Wi-Fi network as this can greatly reduce the time it can take to get set up. For more information on connecting your Ionic to Wi-Fi, check out this article.
If you run into any trouble updating your Ionic, I can also recommend reviewing these troubleshooting tips.
Looking forward to hearing everyone's feedback on the latest release. If you have any questions, feel free to let me know!

Just went for a cycling workout with the new firmware. GPS kept disconnecting. No idea how much distance I lost in the process. Not happy.

I wonder that, if you need to do a factory reset, do you loose all cloud data as well? I mean: would the accumulated data in the smartphone/Windows app, be erased with the first sync with the reset Ionic?

I updated my Ionic yesterday, and since then, every time I try to sync, the Ionic restarts itself and goes into a restart cycle as long as the sync attempt persists.
I tried
- turning the phone (Moto 5Gs plus) on and off
- turning the Ionic on and off manually multiple times
- removing the FitBit app from the phone and re-installing
- removing the Ionic from the FitBit app
The last point is now where I'm at. When I try to add the Ionic to the app/account, after entering the 4 digit code, the Ionic again enters a reboot cycle that persists, making it impossible to connect to the account. I am now wearing a brick, basically.
Until right before the update, everything was fine.
Edit: randomly tried again, worked instantly, everything seems okay now. Glitchy.

No, all the data on Fitbit's servers will be safe. As far as I know, the only way to delete that would be to delete your account.

Finally got this sorted! After being on live chat with Fitbit all day yesterday and they coming to the only conclusion to send it back to Fitbit for repair I decided to reset to factory settings on the watch options( settings, about, factory reset) then deleted the ionic in Bluetooth and the Fitbit app. I then set the watch up as a new watch and left it over night.. woke up this morning and success! Os 2 fully installed and everything working as should!
Hope this helps

According to the app my payment option is still set up and running but now I have updated when I press and hold the back button I only get music controls and shortcuts - my payments has completely disappeared. When I try to go in manually through the wallet app- it opens up music controls?

Are you experiencing a similar problem?

Hi after the latest update turning on music using the ionic to my phone has been a problem, before I could hold down one button to make the connection then start it , this meant I could turn on my music when ever I wanted. Now I find that I have to turn the music on first on my phone before my ionic will allow me to turn it on and off, it also times out if I have not had the music on for a while and have to start it again from the phone. Is this the update or am I doing something wrong as I liked not having to have my phone on me while at home but still being able to turn it on and off as I wanted.

I found that to calibrate my watch after the update I had to plug it into a wall outlet with a usb adapter. It wasn't getting enough power when plugged into my computer to do the calibration.

Thanks! I couldn't find the autowake option. when pressing the left button and fitbit pay came up, I gave up. Turns out I had to slide fitbit pay to the left to get to the settings for the autowake.

I have the same, it took 3+ hours to update over bluetooth as wouldn't connect via wifi. Ionic is updated and working fine, the app just tells me to up date and my current firmware is 27.31.1.29
@T4KRISwrote:I just purchased another Ionic today. I get the notification for the new OS 2.0 firmware, however after updating the firmware still reads 27.31.1.29… is this a bug?
EDIT: ignore it just refreshed itself

I updated yesterday and it took 5 hours. I did it over Bluetooth so that probably took alot longer than if it had been over wireless.

i would try holding the left side button and the right bottom buttons down at the same time. it will take a while but thats how you "reboot" the watch. Let me know how it works!

My new Ionic ran the firmware update yesterday and now it shuts down at random times and won't sync with my phone anymore. I'm really pissed at the moment since I really rely on my smartwatch for a lot. Any suggestions?

Ionic users, your daily stats have moved from the Today app to Fitbit Today.
Not seeing this on my ionic - see all other apps.
