UPDATE: Fitbit OS 2.0 has been released to 100% of users.
Hi all!
I am excited to announce the release of Fitbit OS 2.0! (Firmware Version: 27.32.4.19)
We've started to roll out this update to 10% of Ionic users. This is a progressive rollout, and all Ionic users can expect to have it within a few weeks. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.
What’s New
Fitbit Today:
Introducing Fitbit Today, an updated on-device dashboard that keeps you informed about all of your health and fitness data. Receive action-oriented and personalized content with daily and weekly health and fitness stats, historical activity, exercise summaries, and tips and tricks for using the Fitbit platform. Swipe up from the clock face to open the Fitbit Today dashboard.
Ionic users, your daily stats have moved from the Today app to Fitbit Today.
Music:
You can now add Deezer playlists to your Fitbit watch. For more information on setting up your Deezer playlists on Ionic, check out this article.
What’s Changed
Fitbit Watch Interface:
We made some updates to the way you interact with your Fitbit watch:
To learn more about these changes, open the Tips app on your watch and follow the tutorial.
Instructions for updating your Ionic can be found here.
I recommend updating your Ionic over a home Wi-Fi network as this can greatly reduce the time it can take to get set up. For more information on connecting your Ionic to Wi-Fi, check out this article.
If you run into any trouble updating your Ionic, I can also recommend reviewing these troubleshooting tips.
Looking forward to hearing everyone's feedback on the latest release. If you have any questions, feel free to let me know!

Matt, Appreciate your enthusiasm, BUT, Like some others on the forum, My Ionic is now "bricked"! It has been over 48 hours since the OS2 update started, and after what looks like it downloaded halfway (blue bar on the screen filling half of the screen), it has progressed no further. Chatted with support over 24 hours ago, they said to place it close to my router(?, not sure why, I always sync via bluetooth on phone/tablet). Non-useable, dead, what to do!

Figured out Deezer, but holy cow, better leave like all day to download a playlist! It's like watching grass grow.

Finally had to just reset it. It was stuck at 13% forever.

I'll try downloading another deezer playlist when I have like 24 hours to spare. Kind of inconvenient.

I agree - I HATE not having my reminders...as an office manager immursed in my computer work all day I need that little reminder.

Please, could somebody tell me if is it really a truth that after the last update the reminder to move doesn’t work?
I didn’t update yet. Still thinking if should I...

So I've cleaned up a TON of space by basically doing a factory reset on my phone; uninstalled the app, restarted my phone and reinstalled the app - at which point now I'm not getting the option to install the firmware but of course I'm in the middle of it & the two aren't talking to each other so I need it to complete the update. This could not be more frustrating - and losing my reminder to get up and walk every hour is HORRIBLE!!

What about missing the option of auto/manual display (wrist tilt)?

That's in Settings. Long press the left button. Feature is called Screen Wake = Auto | Manual.

@hades99 @SunsetRunner I am definately still getting my reminders to move after the OS 2.0 update. Have you checked in the mobile app to make sure they're still enabled?

Hi all! Great to see that so many users have successfully updated and are enjoying the new Fitbit OS 2.0.
As many of you are aware, the Today app has been redesigned as an on-device dashboard which can be accessed by swiping up on your clock face.
I want to assure users that reminders to move have not been removed as a feature. You can see your hourly and daily progress by scrolling down in the new Today dashboard.
If you are no longer receiving reminders to move, I recommend performing a restart and checking to make sure that this feature is still enabled by visiting fitbit.com/settings/profile.
For anyone having trouble navigating the new on wrist experience, I highly recommend checking out the Tips app that is now installed on your device. For more information on what changed with this update, check this out.
Additionally, I can confirm that the quick reply feature has not yet been implemented in this release. Our team is working to have this feature rolled out soon on Android devices.
I saw a few users had mentioned that their Ionic was no longer responsive (frozen, or green screen) after the update. In this situation, simply restarting the device should help refresh its system and get you back up and running. If that doesn't work, feel free to let me know!
If your Ionic is repeatedly showing a calibration message, you can ignore it for the time being. Our team is aware of this issue and are looking into similar reports.
Additionally, if your Ionic has defaulted to a different language after updating, our team is currently investigating this as well.
As a workaround, you can change your location to the country where your preferred language is spoken (ie: Italy for Italian, Germany for German) then force sync your Ionic. Once the language has been changed back to the correct one, you can then switch back to your preferred country/language settings and they should carry over.
I will be sure to keep you all updated as more information becomes available for the two issues posted above.
Now, for any of you who are having trouble updating your Ionic to Fitbit OS 2.0, I recommend performing a restart and making sure that your Ionic is charged to 100% and stays plugged in during the update.
I would also make sure that you have a solid home Wi-Fi connection before attempting. If your update fails multiple times, it might be a good idea to try a different network if you have one available. Some additional troubleshooting resources can be found, here.
If you must update your Ionic via Bluetooth connection, I recommend being patient as this process can take several hours to complete.
Finally, I would just like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your feedback on this latest release. I can assure you that your voices are being heard and that our team values your input very much!
If you have any additional questions, you know where to find me!

Having the exact same problem!! Don't think I want to do a full factory reset on my watch, but I want the update. Seems like there should be an easier way.

I had the same issue, was about call fit bit give them a piece of mind.... for not testing this before releasing it. I got mine to work finally doing these steps.
1. Open the app, delete your ionic from the app(unpair)
2. Open bluetooth, unpair the ionic from the phones Bluetooth devices.
3. Do a factory reset on the ionic watch.
4. Go through the same proceedure you did when your 1st got it. That should work for you.
I have the Samsung note 8

Same problem and my watch won't connect to my phone anymore either.

OK, PSA (sorta) if your Ionic is draining battery like crazy.
Restarting the device as per copy/pasted link doesn't work. I have seen, however, someone saying "15 seconds" and I gave it a try. Pressed and held left and bottom right. After a few seconds, it blinked. After about 10 seconds, the Fitbit bubbles appeared. KEPT HOLDING IT and at exactly second 15 the device blinked and it restarted. It took longer to boot up, but it seems to not be draining any longer.
A possibly connected issue, I set Ionic to charge at 0% (shut off due to draining) and left it to charge to 92% (lost patience). After being removed, Ionic reports 97% battery. Maybe it's not draining but a battery reporting error and draining it to 0% (or the correct reset) fixed it.
May I suggest people with issues make sure they hold the buttons for 15 seconds, as opposed to "until logo".

@HMJFIT- It appears to be watch being obnoxious. It was still running the update or something, because the Today feature now starts in <2 seconds, anywhere between 1 and 2, to be precise. Also, the framerate is back to a non-ridiculous level. It feels like something was hanging on my watch, as the battery drained in < 10 hours.
@RicardoFog- There have been many reports of the update nuking settings. Do a reset to be sure (hold left and bottom right for 15 seconds), then make sure all your options are set in the app and in the device. That setting, as it has been pointed out before me, is under (hold left button) Screen Wake - Auto.

Well, that's most of the technical issues dealt with. I just hate the unfinished UI. I assume it will be finished eventually.

Finished the update successfully after the factory reset!

I did what you did and it synced all of twice. Now it won’t sync again. This is getting really frustrating.

So ever since I’ve updated the new firmware I’ve been having problems with trying to sync my phone to the ionic. On several occasions I’ve tried all the reset options, which be successful at times but would not sync after a while. Can you please fix this problem?
