UPDATE: Fitbit OS 2.0 has been released to 100% of users.
Hi all!
I am excited to announce the release of Fitbit OS 2.0! (Firmware Version: 27.32.4.19)
We've started to roll out this update to 10% of Ionic users. This is a progressive rollout, and all Ionic users can expect to have it within a few weeks. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.
What’s New
Fitbit Today:
Introducing Fitbit Today, an updated on-device dashboard that keeps you informed about all of your health and fitness data. Receive action-oriented and personalized content with daily and weekly health and fitness stats, historical activity, exercise summaries, and tips and tricks for using the Fitbit platform. Swipe up from the clock face to open the Fitbit Today dashboard.
Ionic users, your daily stats have moved from the Today app to Fitbit Today.
Music:
You can now add Deezer playlists to your Fitbit watch. For more information on setting up your Deezer playlists on Ionic, check out this article.
What’s Changed
Fitbit Watch Interface:
We made some updates to the way you interact with your Fitbit watch:
To learn more about these changes, open the Tips app on your watch and follow the tutorial.
Instructions for updating your Ionic can be found here.
I recommend updating your Ionic over a home Wi-Fi network as this can greatly reduce the time it can take to get set up. For more information on connecting your Ionic to Wi-Fi, check out this article.
If you run into any trouble updating your Ionic, I can also recommend reviewing these troubleshooting tips.
Looking forward to hearing everyone's feedback on the latest release. If you have any questions, feel free to let me know!

Spent the afternoon, evening and early morning trying to update my Ionic. It kept prompting me to turn on my sync with WiFi. It just grinded away at it till I finally gave up and ran down the battery on my tracker. Decided to try again at the office but lost the **ahem** charging cable between the house and office somewhere, so waiting to try again after a new one comes in. I’m just a little frustrated and irritated and now even more so since I’m now buying a new $20 (plus shipping)charging cord. Geez

@BlakeNL I could not get it to go through my phone either. I had to do it through my laptop and it worked. I would try the laptop app. it took hours to complete and it got a little wonky towards the end, but it worked..

So, I've tried numerous steps to attempt to update my Ionic to OS 2.
Unfortunately it seems that nothing is going to work.
I have ----
Unpaired my fitbit from bluetooth
Removed it from the fitbit app ( that never seems to want to sync for some reason)
uninstalled the app
reset the fitbit Ionic
----------------------------
Then I reinstalled the app and logged in
reconnected my fitbit Ionic to the app
Then it begins to say it failed to update - try bluetooth - then bluetooth fails and it asks me to restart bluetooth.
I've been trying these steps over and over and over and over and over and over again for TWO WHOLE DAYS NOW and I'm just getting fed up with it.
I'm honestly surprised I haven't put it in my trash can.

After trying 10000 things, what worked for me was to Unpair/Pair the Ionic (Android Mobile Phone). Hope this helps every one

Have to say that so far I am not enamoured of the latest update. I loved that way it all worked before, apart from one thing, I would have liked to see the time on the Today screen as I used the Today all day to check stats. It's also handy to keep a check on pulse rate while working out. Now whatever screen I use it just defaults back to the clock screen after a short time which is very frustrating.
Also the GPS on hikes is not working as it used to. I know the kilometre cues on my hikes by heart, and the Ionic was spot on before this latest update, and now they are not occurring at the right places. Also the total hike length doesn't equate to steps taken. This morning I walked from 12.05am to 2am and the Ionic recorded 12.74 kms and the walk as 11.65kms, recording 1.09kms outside the walk. The only walking I did other than recorded on GPs was, from the front of car [small Ford] to the back and reverse on finishing, then from garage to house and upstairs to bed which is definitely a lot less than 50 metres let alone over 1km. I wish I had a house that big!
I also noticed that when stopping and pausing on the walk to drink pressing the pause button often requires two pushes and the same on restarting.
I have also suddenly become a super athlete compared to my previous stats. My usual pace time is around 6.5km/hour, depending on terrain how hot it is, and so I average around 10 minutes a kilometre. Today I apparently managed to walk at an average of 8.45 minutes a kilometre and I was certainly not walking any faster than usual.
Sorry, for the long drawn out spiel but I wanted to outline the problems I'm having with examples as it strikes me that here is something basically wrong with the calibration.
I did do as requested when I updated with regards to calibrating, but maybe it didn't "take". Any suggestions? Can I re-calibrate somehow to see if that is the problem?
I'd appreciate any help at all.

Nice update, but the iconic is still lacking in the area of smart features. I’m sticking with the iconic in hopes that Fitbit will eventually deliver on Iconic’s full potential.

Have you tried doing a factory reset fresh of the watch? You also may want to delete and reinstall Fitbit app on your smart phone.

Think I’ll be waiting for the kinks to get worked out of this update. Seems like it’s more trouble than it’s worth. Feeling a bit like a Guinea pig.

I wonder if some of the stability issus you are experincing are harware related rathern than software bugs. I say this becuase so far my experience with OS updates has been seemless. My only frustration has been the lack of smart features I would expect from a $300 smart watch.

Update went smooth for me. Hoping they will update the phon app...it's nice to have so many different clock faces to choose from but there has to be a better way to organize them so that they aren't completely random...sort them by newest first or by developer or paid vs free or something. It's a pain scrolling all the way down, finding a new clock face, checking it out then backing out of it only to go all the way back to the top again 😡

This is essentially what you put down to poor coding or lazy code writing. Anything that requires effort is apparently "Too Hard" Basket i think. Sadly, i think they should fire their whole development team and bring in new people who would actually want to provide a full on awesome service.
This is why, lot more are migrating to Apple Watches.. they have development procedure/guidelines.
And if you don't believe me, have a look at the difference between Apple Nike+ Watch, and Fitbit Adidas Ionic..
its like a total different ball park of functionality and training

Mine won't let me update through wifi or Bluetooth.. This is ridiculous especially considering all of the money we all spent.

I was finally able to get my Ionic to update to 2.0 last night. But I had to reset it to factory. I was not able to do over Wifi at all but it did finally work over bluetooth. It took a couple hours total but works great now.

Mine updated in 30min via WiFi with no issues. I really like the changes, nice job!

I have factory reset, uninstalled the app and started all over twice. I’ve redone the Bluetooth connection, I’ve turned everything off and back on again. It will sync right after I’ve completed the updating and after that it won’t get farther than 3/4. There are no other Bluetooth items around. It syncs fine on my IPad but not my phone. Everything is up to date on both. Weird.

An improvement yes. But you guys made it harder to view the battery strength, and the today view is slow and bites (MUCH preferred the older view and the left swipe to view battery quickly--menus in there shouldn't have been though). 3 out of 4 of my last workouts since the update have resulted in the watch rebooting itself mid-workout, losing all my progress....that's a bit of a major problem.
