UPDATE: Fitbit OS 2.0 has been released to 100% of users.
Hi all!
I am excited to announce the release of Fitbit OS 2.0! (Firmware Version: 27.32.4.19)
We've started to roll out this update to 10% of Ionic users. This is a progressive rollout, and all Ionic users can expect to have it within a few weeks. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.
What’s New
Fitbit Today:
Introducing Fitbit Today, an updated on-device dashboard that keeps you informed about all of your health and fitness data. Receive action-oriented and personalized content with daily and weekly health and fitness stats, historical activity, exercise summaries, and tips and tricks for using the Fitbit platform. Swipe up from the clock face to open the Fitbit Today dashboard.
Ionic users, your daily stats have moved from the Today app to Fitbit Today.
Music:
You can now add Deezer playlists to your Fitbit watch. For more information on setting up your Deezer playlists on Ionic, check out this article.
What’s Changed
Fitbit Watch Interface:
We made some updates to the way you interact with your Fitbit watch:
To learn more about these changes, open the Tips app on your watch and follow the tutorial.
Instructions for updating your Ionic can be found here.
I recommend updating your Ionic over a home Wi-Fi network as this can greatly reduce the time it can take to get set up. For more information on connecting your Ionic to Wi-Fi, check out this article.
If you run into any trouble updating your Ionic, I can also recommend reviewing these troubleshooting tips.
Looking forward to hearing everyone's feedback on the latest release. If you have any questions, feel free to let me know!

I updated the other day and all is fine. I love the new features and interface. After getting the update I recommend people re-read the Ionic manual which has all of the new features updated in it. It seems a lot of the questions and "problems" people are having stem from the fact that they haven't taken the time to learn the new features. It must kill some people every time they upgrade their phone! Thanks Fitbit for the continuous improvement!

I wish I had never tried to update it. My ionic is stuck with ionic logo and can't power down. Unpaired with Android phone and can't re-pair. I've wasted hours trying to figure it out. Next time send me the update after the bugs are worked out!

Updating to the latest OS was an f'ing nightmare, just like your stock price. Might as well just tell everyone to do a factory reset after uninstalling the app, unpairing the device, then reinstalling the app.

Sorry but I really don't like this new firmware.
1 The watch won't stay on the screen I select anymore.
2 The new way of looking at the stats is awkward. It's not as easy to check how your doing.
I'm sorry but I hate it. I know I've got to put up with it but when I buy an upgrade in a couple of years I'll probably look elsewhere.

I tried to update my Ionic today but alas it failed like so many others have reported here. I was able to restart the Ionic and everything was back to the way it was prior to attempting the update. But a second attempt failed and now I am just going to ignore this update.
The Ionic is my second Fitbit product, the first being a Charge. In both cases my assessment is the software (firmware) needs to be reexamined. Maybe the development team also. It is the biggest liability of this hardware. As such, I find it hard to recommend Fitbit to anyone.
Fitbit: You need to really examine what's going on with your product before you find yourself losing so much market share because of dissatisfied users.

Just thought I’d share a problem I encountered today. This can make things difficult when using a passcode to lock/unlock my watch. Lol

What a **ahem**ic update. Besides the fact that quick view waking a person up while they sleep still has not been addressed now you have made it a lengthier process to set the screen to manual. Old method, swipe left and set and switch screen off. New method, press and hold left button, set screen to manual, press left button to exit and left button again to switch the screen off. I'm wishing I had visited the forums before buying the Ionic... Fitbit is the most frustrating company to ever deal with and the fact that a suggestion from 2015 has still not been implemented makes me wonder if they ever listen to the customer base.

Seems like you can't use the word m o r o n I c without setting off a filter. Interesting...

You can access the auto on/off by swiping right to left until you see the settings icon. Tap it and the auto on/off will appear.

My Ionic touch screen has a huge time lag now. Doesn't appear to work and then will suddenly start to cycle through the options. Can't swipe down or right with any accuracy. Responds in the wrong way. I have tried changing the clock face to see if this made any difference - it didn't. This is rendering my watch unuseable.

Calling the update a m o r o n I c update because instead of making life easier they made it harder . So let me rather say that the update is a failure on UI design and poorly thought out.
That is still a long winded method compared to the quicker and easier method from before. I mean it's not like the left panel is being used by anything anymore, I could understand if they removed it and replaced it with something else but nope let's remove the easy function.
Maybe Fitbit will improve in the future but I get the impression from other device threads that they plan you into obsolescence. I still don't understand why they had to remove the left panel and replace it with a button combination that just puts unnecessary wear and tear on the device.

Just checked and nope they have removed that option from settings. The only settings now are brightness, backlight, vibration and heart rate. So thanks for the suggestion because I was going to move the settings icon closer to make it easier but it appears that making life easy is not the Fitbit way.

I don't have a problem with pressing the left button, tapping Screen Wake to toggle from Auto to Manual or vice versa, then pressing the left button again to exit the settings. Seems pretty simple & easy to me. Doesn't take me any longer or more strokes than the old swiping left, tapping the Screen Wake, and then pressing the left button.

This update has been a HOT MESS! My Fitbit wouldn't download the update the first time. I had to contact them on what to do (if anyone else has experienced this, they told me to do the hard reset and then things kind of worked after that).
Now, my mom's Ionic won't calibrate and they don't have any answers for this. She chatted with them for forty minutes, just for them to tell her to provide them with her email and they would eventually get back to her. I find this completely ridiculous. Everyone has paid good money for this tracker, it is a shame that she couldn't get the answers to fix hers!
