UPDATE: Fitbit OS 2.0 has been released to 100% of users.
Hi all!
I am excited to announce the release of Fitbit OS 2.0! (Firmware Version: 27.32.4.19)
We've started to roll out this update to 10% of Ionic users. This is a progressive rollout, and all Ionic users can expect to have it within a few weeks. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.
What’s New
Fitbit Today:
Introducing Fitbit Today, an updated on-device dashboard that keeps you informed about all of your health and fitness data. Receive action-oriented and personalized content with daily and weekly health and fitness stats, historical activity, exercise summaries, and tips and tricks for using the Fitbit platform. Swipe up from the clock face to open the Fitbit Today dashboard.
Ionic users, your daily stats have moved from the Today app to Fitbit Today.
Music:
You can now add Deezer playlists to your Fitbit watch. For more information on setting up your Deezer playlists on Ionic, check out this article.
What’s Changed
Fitbit Watch Interface:
We made some updates to the way you interact with your Fitbit watch:
To learn more about these changes, open the Tips app on your watch and follow the tutorial.
Instructions for updating your Ionic can be found here.
I recommend updating your Ionic over a home Wi-Fi network as this can greatly reduce the time it can take to get set up. For more information on connecting your Ionic to Wi-Fi, check out this article.
If you run into any trouble updating your Ionic, I can also recommend reviewing these troubleshooting tips.
Looking forward to hearing everyone's feedback on the latest release. If you have any questions, feel free to let me know!

I don't have a problem with pressing the left button, tapping Screen Wake to toggle from Auto to Manual or vice versa, then pressing the left button again to exit the settings. Seems pretty simple & easy to me. Doesn't take me any longer or more strokes than the old swiping left, tapping the Screen Wake, and then pressing the left button.
If i wanted a smartwatch where I had to use the buttons for everything, I'd have bought a Garmin. I really miss the fluid use of swiping around. And it seems from the comments I'm not the only one. Swipe right right to left to close/exit an app is a must have if you ask me.

I have had a slew of issues all of a sudden right after updating to Watch OS 2.0:
1. Device gets warmer than usual, battery drains within 6 hours
2. Steps are not tracking. I would walk for 30 minutes and only get ~10-30 steps. Tilting wrist to wake stopped working.
3. Heart rate sensor completely turned off. No green lights, no heart rate readings.
I have already tried:
1. Restarting the watch
2. Factory resetting the watch
3. Making sure heart rate tracking is turned on
4. Contacting Fitbit support. Since 'I got it from a third party', I'm on my own.

I never even knew about this update, it must have happened overnight
But now my Ionic don work, it wont show up in my Bluetooth,
I have followed all the instructions about making it a new install, deleted the app, reinstalled the app,
Put h ionic on charge, sat it next to my phone, it just tries to connect to the tracker, but its been trying to do that for 3 days now
I tried setting up my old Surge, but even that wont connect now
Right these are the steps I have taken
deleted the app, reinstalled the app, logged in
find the Ionic set up page, it found the ionic, but wont connect, turn Bluetooth off and back on, it don't show up in the Bluetooth, there is nothing else connected in the Bluetooth
So I deleted the app again, reinstalled the app and tried to install my old surge, everything was the same as with the ionic, nothing is working or syncing
I don't know if its this new firmware, but it was working fine until this update happened
Both my Surge and ionic are fully charged and are next to the phone but the app cant find or connect to either
It would seem I am not the only one here with problems
Can ANYONE help or advise what I do next ?
I am using an iphone 6, 1 fitbit ionic, 1 fitbit surge (I updated my fitbit from the surge to the ionic in the hope it would be better, but now both are useless, just posh watches

Thanks, but no thanks. Next time Fitbit wants to roll out a disaster of an update like this one, count me out! Don't do me any favors.

My Bluetooth is extremely spotty also. I’ve done everything (reset, reinstalled, deleted app, removed Ionic and repaired) twice. It will work for a while and then quit syncing. It’s now happening on my iPad and iPhone. If I can’t sync my data there’s not much point.

Update seams to be hopeless. 3 days after update my screen locked up. took 20 minutes (multiple attempts) of hardware reset, finally got it functioning. now my screen fades and flashes and has rainbow colours.
Anyone else have this?
Is there anyway to roll back the update so my Ionic works properly until the OS2 update is fixed?

We had two of them just under 30 days. Update went great but now one watch stops recording exercise after a few minutes and wont track sleep anymore. Other has showed heart rate at 160 while sitting down watching TV. Both were fine before the update and since we're within the 30 day return policy at Amazon, both are going back today for full refunds. I was able to get over the watch screen coming on all night, which we just had to disable that every night before we went to bed. But the new OS, and all the changes are not for the better. This OS doesn't seem to be tested well, and I agree with others that said this is now 2.0, it's 1.8Beta. A lot of people wont ever buy one of their watches again because of all the issues. Hopefully for the people who remain their customers, next time they will do a better job. Maybe even *ask* people about the interface changes, instead of just making them. Not sure where they are getting their feedback prior to putting it out there, but clearly it doesn't seem to be from the now 26 pages of comments on this one update. Good luck FitBit, sorry you lost two customers today.

Just updated my ionic firmware 14 March 2018 and the steps per hour is missing from the Today app.....can I get this back ?

Tina, unless you have made changes, when you swipe up for Today stats, the first stat is steps and the second screen upon scrolling is X of X hours today. Swiping right from that screen is steps this hour which I assume you are alluding to.

@Butterflywingswrote:Got home and downloaded the update. It took about 30 minutes. Doesn’t seem to be any issues yet. Getting used to things. It said to re calibrate but I accidentally hit no. Is there a way to force a calibration or just wait and see if it will ask again?
Just connect it to your charger and it will sync and calibrate while it is charging.
Hope this helped and Keep on STEPPING!

This did NOT work for my mom’s. It keeps popping up. When it’s connected to the charger, it will act like it’s doing something then a big red X appears and says to restart or try later.

Great news, Denean! Those two right buttons are still the same as ever--app shortcuts. The lower right button opens the app that is in the lower left corner of the first app page. The upper right button opens the app that is to the upper left corner of the first app page. You arrange the apps on a page same as before by pressing and moving around to where you want them.

I had tried over wifi, Bluetooth, and had to reboot mine using the 3 button trick every time until I started from scratch. Performing a factory reset and then updating as part of the "first time setup" did the trick for my Ionic as well.
