UPDATE: Fitbit OS 2.0 has been released to 100% of users.
Hi all!
I am excited to announce the release of Fitbit OS 2.0! (Firmware Version: 27.32.4.19)
We've started to roll out this update to 10% of Ionic users. This is a progressive rollout, and all Ionic users can expect to have it within a few weeks. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.
What’s New
Fitbit Today:
Introducing Fitbit Today, an updated on-device dashboard that keeps you informed about all of your health and fitness data. Receive action-oriented and personalized content with daily and weekly health and fitness stats, historical activity, exercise summaries, and tips and tricks for using the Fitbit platform. Swipe up from the clock face to open the Fitbit Today dashboard.
Ionic users, your daily stats have moved from the Today app to Fitbit Today.
Music:
You can now add Deezer playlists to your Fitbit watch. For more information on setting up your Deezer playlists on Ionic, check out this article.
What’s Changed
Fitbit Watch Interface:
We made some updates to the way you interact with your Fitbit watch:
To learn more about these changes, open the Tips app on your watch and follow the tutorial.
Instructions for updating your Ionic can be found here.
I recommend updating your Ionic over a home Wi-Fi network as this can greatly reduce the time it can take to get set up. For more information on connecting your Ionic to Wi-Fi, check out this article.
If you run into any trouble updating your Ionic, I can also recommend reviewing these troubleshooting tips.
Looking forward to hearing everyone's feedback on the latest release. If you have any questions, feel free to let me know!

Got this firmware update.
Updated array is beautiful, stylish, organized. Love it!
My Ionic now shows last 3 runs (during last 2 days), but nothing is getting to the app/site.
Says it is syncing, but site shows 0 steps/runs.
Afraid of losing runs/steps if I use "disconnect device" on the app/site (as it says anything unsynced will be lost) since this is part of a major company contest with $ involved.
How can I do this?

stephaniexamber here's what I recomed. 1) If you installed a custom watch face change the face back to the defult watch face in the iOS/Android app, 2) reset your Iconic by pressing the left button and bottom right button together untill the fitbit logo appears, 3)sync your Iconic, 4)install the sofware update. Works everytime.

So after resetting your Fitbit, deleting and readding apps, you can install the software update. How ridiculous it is for paying customers to go through hoops like this in the first place, especially when they don't tell you in advance you need to do all this, and with no guarantees it will even work.
My question to everyone here is this: Provided you can get OS2 installed successfully on your Fitbit, is it worth it?

@N8teGee @MassiP @Mark.B.WA @T.J @Colinm39 Thanks for the help!
The suggested fix doesn't work. I understand there's supposed to be a "Today" app in the app gallery on my phone, but I don't see it there.

Successfully updated my Ionic yesterday and I love all of the updates.
Used the GPS on my run today and it lost track of where I was for over 1 mile. I have never seen this before on my Ionic and was wondering if it was related to the update or some other problem.
Has anyone else experienced a similar problem since the update?

Hi jblumens,
Yes my Ionic has "dropped out" too on several hikes since the update and I've had "blank" episodes of around the same distance. Also it is recording total distances of my hikes incorrectly too compared to before.

I have posted on this forum once. This is a second post.
I have restarted my Ionic.
I have brought it back to factory setting.
I have taken off the app and reinstalled it on my phone (Samsung Galaxy note 😎
I have restarted app, blutooth and wi fi numrous times.
Following problems continues:
Dropped connection, I can't even get it to work many times.
GPS problems
Step and distance counts
I have also figured out that there is no way to revert back to older software. Once you factory reset it and connect, it automatically installs new update. Therefore, until someone fixes the issue with new update, almost all the ionics are going to continue to have issues. For some lucky ones, it will work.

I didn’t need to delete any apps. Just change the watch face back to the OEM face. The entire process takes 2 minuets .Excluding the software installation of course

The suggested fix doesn't work. I understand there's supposed to be a "Today" app in the app gallery on my phone, but I don't see it there.
To access the TODAY screen with the new Firmware release, you need to SWIPE UP from the bottom of your Ionic. This will bring you to the new TODAY screen!
Hope this helped and Keep on STEPPING!

Looks like all this update will do is screw things up. My attempt to install a couple of days ago failed. It said I needed to update the app. The app is up to date. But now the stupid thing will not even sync. Thanks for nothing, fitbit software turkeys

When I swipe to the Today screen I want it to stay there until I am ready to return to the clock face. It seems to time out and automatically return to the clock face. Is there a way to prevent that from happening?

Well is’nt that nice. Shame Fitbit do not do more to get the Ionic to sync with ios devices.

Oh yes. Had this since I purchased in November. Always had trouble syncing. Fitbit were helpful, but the problem never really went away, but since this new update it barely syncs if at all at if it does it is just a case of sitting there with it by my side and just repeatedly hitting the connect or sync button for hours. They can make it all pretty and change the faces you can slide up, and they can make the product worse. I never had these problems with the surge. Have contacted fitbit again and complained and now await a reply.

I have lost count the amount of times I have done this and every other **ahem** trouble shoot known, and it still does not happen

Thank You! This worked for me. I had to reset my Fitbit first (push right button and bottom left button at same time). Then closed all my iPhone applications. Placed my phone and Fitbit on the table next to my router. Ran the updated again. The updated went through and took about 20 minutes.
@MrsMcNealwrote:Ok. I called Fitbit and got some help. If you have an I-phone you have to double tap home button, close all screens. I was told that this slows process and shuts down WiFi. You can’t touch your phone either and should be with your tracker close to the router. It should then only take about 30-45 minutes.
