UPDATE: Fitbit OS 2.0 has been released to 100% of users.
Hi all!
I am excited to announce the release of Fitbit OS 2.0! (Firmware Version: 27.32.4.19)
We've started to roll out this update to 10% of Ionic users. This is a progressive rollout, and all Ionic users can expect to have it within a few weeks. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.
What’s New
Fitbit Today:
Introducing Fitbit Today, an updated on-device dashboard that keeps you informed about all of your health and fitness data. Receive action-oriented and personalized content with daily and weekly health and fitness stats, historical activity, exercise summaries, and tips and tricks for using the Fitbit platform. Swipe up from the clock face to open the Fitbit Today dashboard.
Ionic users, your daily stats have moved from the Today app to Fitbit Today.
Music:
You can now add Deezer playlists to your Fitbit watch. For more information on setting up your Deezer playlists on Ionic, check out this article.
What’s Changed
Fitbit Watch Interface:
We made some updates to the way you interact with your Fitbit watch:
To learn more about these changes, open the Tips app on your watch and follow the tutorial.
Instructions for updating your Ionic can be found here.
I recommend updating your Ionic over a home Wi-Fi network as this can greatly reduce the time it can take to get set up. For more information on connecting your Ionic to Wi-Fi, check out this article.
If you run into any trouble updating your Ionic, I can also recommend reviewing these troubleshooting tips.
Looking forward to hearing everyone's feedback on the latest release. If you have any questions, feel free to let me know!

FINALLY got the OS2 update installed on my iPhone 8. Did it over bluetooth. Took about an hour. It never worked over WiFi. Now let's see if everything works.

That happened to me keep pressing the update again and it will say try connecting with WiFi or start again you might have to do this about 20 plus times until they both are connected once your ionic is connected then updating is a very long long process allow about 6 hours when update is finished syncing will commence maybe 1 hour and you are done the ionic will have new features like when you swipe to right the display of battery level won't be there two new app added on clock face change and more options of clock face. You must be patient and have lots of time to do this process. When the ionic is complete it will go back to the beginning but the phone keeps syncing. I had to end it by closing the app and start again. Let me know how you go very frustrating with the surge it didn't take long. I did not like the new setting on the ionic and pressed the factory setting on the ionic and having a worse problem won't start again gives a purple circle with cross inside and the words data not cleared sync & try again. Won't sync with phone spoke to help desk waiting for reply. Mine is the first case.

My Ionic says an update is available but when I press on the update button it just flashes my screen and then will tell me to sync but it already has synced. I have logged out on my phone and logged back in and don't know what else to do other than possible uninstalling the whole app and re-installing it again.

I had same problem you have to be patient this is a very very long process it took me about 6 hours. Used WiFi keep both on charger press update if in successful keep doing it till it lock with tracker you will see the logo on tracker and thin blue line on one side of tracker this line will start to increase in thickness till it reaches the other end then it will install after syncing install will take about an hour but sync about 4 to 6 hours you have to be there during this operation when your tracker is complete you will have a new clock face whole setting is changed I prefer old setting 2 new app included and whole new app on phone. You must have time and patient. All the best for you. But keep pressing update if stops very irritating.

Cada a warning to you don't try to reset to factory on your tracker. I'm having a big problem tracker won't reset there is a purple circle with a cross in it and the words data not cleared sync & try again. It won't sync with phone. I call help deck in America they gave me hints but could not sync now they asked where I buy this tracker and country, looks like I will return for a replacement. This is the first problem they have encountered. Tracker should have warned me before resetting. Will keep you all updated.

Sarah
I kept trying and trying and trying keep updating even though it failed it took me a very long time.
Warning once you have updated you will have new features I tried to reset to factory on the tracker but lost everything. Spoke to help desk in America tried with their expert nothing. They have sent me a replacement form. I have filled for a new tracker at no cost. Don't press the reset button on your tracker once you've updated. Mine is a new problem for them.

@Ringa, this error is caused by doing a Factory Reset of the Ionic before removing (unpairing) it from the app. Check out this post on this error, and the solution:

I really like my Fitbit Ionic.
but this latest update to OS 2.0 is a step back.
i like the ionic because of its simplicity AND abundance of features.
Now you’ve taken away my simple swipe right and I’m forced to swipe from the bottom to see the battery %. And why add a delay when swiping from the bottom? Most users don’t care about the graphical “today” splash screen after swiping. We’d rather just have a simple view of our data.

Thanks.
Bit please try toch humanise the labels you attribute to firmware releases... Fitbit uses both names as "
VERSION 27.31.1.29", and more human understandable labels as 1.2 or 2.0. but I don't know which number corresponds to the 2.0 or the 1.1 etc. This is not clear on your web site when following the link you provide.
