UPDATE: Fitbit OS 2.0 has been released to 100% of users.
Hi all!
I am excited to announce the release of Fitbit OS 2.0! (Firmware Version: 27.32.4.19)
We've started to roll out this update to 10% of Ionic users. This is a progressive rollout, and all Ionic users can expect to have it within a few weeks. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.
What’s New
Fitbit Today:
Introducing Fitbit Today, an updated on-device dashboard that keeps you informed about all of your health and fitness data. Receive action-oriented and personalized content with daily and weekly health and fitness stats, historical activity, exercise summaries, and tips and tricks for using the Fitbit platform. Swipe up from the clock face to open the Fitbit Today dashboard.
Ionic users, your daily stats have moved from the Today app to Fitbit Today.
Music:
You can now add Deezer playlists to your Fitbit watch. For more information on setting up your Deezer playlists on Ionic, check out this article.
What’s Changed
Fitbit Watch Interface:
We made some updates to the way you interact with your Fitbit watch:
To learn more about these changes, open the Tips app on your watch and follow the tutorial.
Instructions for updating your Ionic can be found here.
I recommend updating your Ionic over a home Wi-Fi network as this can greatly reduce the time it can take to get set up. For more information on connecting your Ionic to Wi-Fi, check out this article.
If you run into any trouble updating your Ionic, I can also recommend reviewing these troubleshooting tips.
Looking forward to hearing everyone's feedback on the latest release. If you have any questions, feel free to let me know!

Not wanting to make anyone feel bad. Please don’t think that. And yes maybe they didn’t. But I feel so badly for those who upgraded to lose use of a very expensive piece of jewelry now left useless

I have had nothing but problems since this update. I like the interface better, but it is extremely buggy. Notifications stop working. You have to toggle Bluetooth on and off to fix it. I also can’t access the wallet in the app itself. Fitbit pay is working but when I go to access the wallet it just says preparing and eventually times out. I’m about done with Fitbit. If you can’t get something as important as notifications working on a smart watch, you have no business being in this market.

I purchased an Iconic yesterday and experienced all the problems described here. Sporadic synching, no notifications, etc. The initial setup took a while and I had several disconnects during download. After resetting to factory several times, starting fresh and having no luck I called support. After 30 minutes we got off the phone without success and the last test for me was to reboot the iPhone 7 I was talking to them with. This last test did not work. But support did say something that I think did the trick for me, maybe for you too. They asked, "Are the any other bluetooth devices close by, any other FitBits?". They had me turn off the extra BT devices and get the Alta HR 30 or more away. What they didn't have me do is a full reset after that.
So my final troubleshooting scenario before return was this:
I stress for me that after trying factory resets 10 times the thing that seem to make the difference for me was getting my wife's iPhone BT off, Alta HR out of room, iPad BT off, etc. After this I had a fully successful setup process and working Iconic in the end.

Ok so since changing from huawei mate 10 pro to my secondary iphone se, all syncs and functions seems to be running without glitch.
Anytime i open the app to sync it functions well.
With 2 runs over the weekend and sleep data all recording normally.
Fingers crossed.
So it seems sync issues are device based?

I bought Ionic yesterday even as I was little scared about the problems here.
Luckily it seems I have zero issues at this moment. Watch updated to OS2 nicely.
I have few Huawei phones too (Mate 10 Pro and p20 Pro) and it seems that Huaweis EMUI and it's aggressive battery management do have some issues now and then atleast with the notifications. I got the "not able to forward notifications" error few times and had to reboot the phone (P20 Pro) and the watch to get it working again. Then switched to my Pixel 2 XL and zero problems. Also my iPhone X hasn't had a single error.
So it might have to do with the phone too atleast when it comes to notifications. Yes my watch is still young so will see how it manages with time.

My ionic no longer measures my heart rate. I have turned the monitoring on and off, turned the ionic on and off. I have synced it. I have connected and disconnected from power. I have returned it to factory settings. Uninstalled the app, reinstalled the app. I HAVE DONE EVERYTHING BUT TAKEN IT TO A PRIEST, it still doesn't monitor my heart rate. Anyone have any other ideas? If not I will go buy a different, CHEAPER one of these things.

Since this firmware update my watch seems to have a new "feature" where when it is submerged in water the screen goes off, or when touching/covering a large area of the screen it also goes off.
This breaks "always on" feature in the various workout modes, which used to work properly in the last non 2.0 firmware.
I posted about it on the existing thread here:
It looks like this issue/feature was fixed or removed in the latest non 2.0 firmware, but then made a return in the 2.0 firmware. This feature should not have been put back in without fixing the workout modes so that they still remain on regardless and also providing a way for developers to disable the feature in their apps.

Not sure about swimming but for runs are ok.
Also on the point where you cover the screen it goes off.
I think i read somewhere before it is intentional for the purpose of those wearing it at work with long sleeves covering it so no accidental "touches" happen with the sleeves.
Same as for water. Usually it turns off so "touches" don't happen.
I can't remember where i read it before or if it was for the ionic or other touch based watches but it makes sense somewhat.

I solved!!!
Finally I did it ... now syncs always, the night fits very well, the cardio frequezimetro is comparable to a cardio belt and above all the daily calorie consumption is finally real.
I would like to share my experience to help ...
the steps were these:
- Complain with Technical Support for Ionic Unreliability.
- Reset by pressing 3 keys simultaneously for 12 seconds. after which the Fitbit Logo appears, leave only the button on the bottom right ... the vibration means that the factory reset occurs.
- Perform updating but will continue to give inaccurate data.
- Complain again with Ionic's technical support for unreliability
- Ship the Ionic Fitbit in Warranty
- When the new Fitbit returns, repeat the processes to initialize.
- Will continue to give problems of synchronization and fake cardio.
- Reinsert the Ionic into the box.
- Sell the Ionic.
- Buy a Polar or Garmin ..
Everything works...
Personally I bought a Polar A370 perfect in synchronization, and in daily calorie consumption thanks to an excellent cardiac control to the double Led that, in case of intense workouts I associate a cardio bluetooth headband. From accurate suggestions and check your sleep impeccably.
I hope I have been helpful.

Found a workaround for me:
All Errors, with syncing or Notification, i get if Sleep-Mode on.
Sleep mode go off, FitBIT IONIC no syncing.
After stopp the app completed (in device Setting go on stopp!!) and be shure, Sleep-Mode are not on, FitBIT syncing and notfication works fine for the next hours.

This is ridiculous. Since 2.0, my Ionic do not sync anymore! Very frustrating. Poor software development.

If the sync has problem, try to unpair and repair the Ionic in your app. On the Fitbit app dashboard and at the bottom, you'd see a 2 chain-linked together icon on the left and a wrench on the right.
Click the left 2-link icon and wait for your phone to unpair and re-pair the Ionic. Fixes some sync issues.

OMG I have this same problem! I haven't been able to get my watch to work correctly for a few days, exactly since the update! It looks like its working, fulled charged, put it on and within 10 minutes its not doing anything at all. Like it is dead. I have actually sat down and cried over this! I don't have much money so when I finally had enough to get this watch I bought screen protectors and everything, and I have been so upset because I just cant figure out what is wrong with it and how to fix it. I'm glad I took a minute to come to the site, and see I am not the only one... I usually use the app for everything. I only had a few minutes to check this out, as soon as I get my 7 year old off the bus I will be right back here to keep reading and see if the solution is here....I have been just so completely unable to focus on anything in my life other than what happened to my watch and why 😞 It took me SO long to save for this watch and it is so hard for me to spend money on myself. I'm not happy that everyone else has problems with it to, I'm just glad to know it ISNT something I did wrong, so maybe it can be fixed

Since the latest update the fit bit app is draining my iPhone battery even though all day sync and notifications are off...not impressed at all. I am considering unlinstalling the app!
