Update 9/3/2020: This update should now be available to all customers. If you have any difficulty updating, make sure you are following the directions in this article, and then provide as many specific details as possible in your post so that we can assist.
We've started rolling out Fitbit OS 4.2 Firmware Update (71.6.19) for Ionic.
We release firmware updates to all customers in phases. The update will be available to everyone soon, and a banner will appear in the app when you can install the update. If you don’t see the banner yet, check the app again later.
*Firmware releases are not distributed based on region or location and can reach anyone no matter where you reside. We do not recommend performing a factory reset to force the update to your device as your data will be lost and you may not get the update. Please be patient and wait until you see the update banner inside of the Fitbit app to begin the firmware download.

HOW DO I UPDATE?
Step by step instructions for updating your Ionic device can be found here.
We recommend updating your Ionic over a home Wi-Fi network as this can greatly reduce the time it can take to get set up. For more information on connecting your Ionic to Wi-Fi, check out this article.

@Yojana I am afraid that I am having issues similar to others since the firmware upgrade and I have tried rebooting tracker, reinstalling the app on my galaxy note 8 and various other fixes but it is still not good. Its not updating my tracker info and every morning the time is half an hour late. I have to then spwnd time trying to synch, and reboot, and reload the app to get it to at least tell the the correct time. Fitbiy need to solve this for my device or I will be asking for a replacement. Please can you suggest the next steps to resolution.

I hadn’t noticed a Fitbit OS update but My Iconic is running 71.6.19 and I’m having severe battery and blank screen problems.
in the past few weeks battery life has gone from 4ish days to 2 ish days to less than 1/2 day (went from 100% to flat in less than 2 hours this afternoon).
I’m now getting a blank screen when not charging - watch appears to shut down for 0% battery. Watch also shuts down after 5 mins of charging and while writing this and trying to reset it it’s gone from 84% charge (Charging) to 0% within a minute.
As soon as it’s disconnected from the charger it shuts down.
watch is unusable in this state !
I can confirm:
- it’s running v71.6.19
- i’ve restarted it ...this hasn’t helped
- i’ve managed to shut it down and turn it back on (could only do while on charge) ...hasn’t helped
- i’ve removed it from my Fitbit app, restarted the watch and reconnected it ...hasn’t helped
I’ve tried changing clock faces ... just churns as though it’s updating the clock face indefinitely. When I back out and go back in to change face it says last update face failed, try again. Does the same thing ...hasn’t helped.
Any help appreciated
