My wife and I have both have the Ionic. We will go for a walk and start tracking the exercise via Walk exercise at the same time. At the end however, the distance is off by sometimes as much as 4/10’a of a mile (her’s always longer.)
How is it possible that these are off by so much of both are connected to GPS?

The GPS on the watch is very inaccurate. My workaround for the past two years has been to use my phone to record outdoor walks. Now they tell me I can't record my heart rate that way anymore -- even though it has always worked. I think this is ridiculous. Not all their trackers have GPS -- so if they have removed the ability to track HR while using your phone to record outdoor activity I will buying an Apple Watch. It was bad enough that it couldn't provide accurate stats when on treadmill--I am completely disgusted by Fitbit and their consistently poor customer support. It's like they don't even want my business -- and I have always been an enthusiastic customer and even convinced other people to buy Fitbit. No more! Is there a Fitbit rep who can justify removing the only reliable way to track runs and activity with both HR and GPS data?
