Ionic - GPS issues and no heart rate

Two days ago, my watch had connected per its usual and I set off. I didn't pay much attention to it until I looked down at probably mile 3 and noticed it wasn't recording/displaying any pace or distance info. I ended the exercise and restarted it - GPS said connected - started running again and still no pace/distance info. I ran more than seven miles (friends had watches). I got home and turned off the exercise. It had recorded time of the exercise, .3 miles, and 87 STEPS! I synced to my phone - it recorded the exercise and its length and it also showed the actual map of what I had run, but no distance or pace info. I restarted the watch 2x and it started recording steps again.

Went for a run yesterday - no pace/distance info recorded AGAIN. And then today it's not tracking heart rate (no green light).

So frustrating. I am trying a factory reset now (restarting did not help at all). Anyone else have a similar issue? I've had my Fitbit since June 2018, so about a year.

My fitbit iconic is just over a year old and the GPS is now useless. I've tried all the "solutions", such as factory reset, and leaving it outside for 20 minutes. This was on the edge of an old dock, with the nearest building 100M way, and 200-300M of water on the other sides. If the thing doesn't work here, it is never going to.

GPS connectivity is a core functionality, and without it fitbit  is useless to me.

This seems to be a regular problem, with many complains here and in other forums. This isn't the only problem of course. It's well known that the "floor climbing" function is a joke, and it is noticeable that this is no longer featured at least on the Amazon UK page. Maybe someone at fitbit was worried about false advertising?

The question remains: in terms of UK/EU trading standards legislation, is the fitbit iconic "fit for purpose"?
