I am obliged to open an new topic, as I need an official answer on a issue that is already discussed.
The GPS loses connection at the middle of my runs and searching for signal until the end of my race.
If I start a new exercise, the GPS is connected immediately!
Always under clear sky.
So I would like an official statement:
- Is it identified by Fitbit? If yes..
- Is it a firmware issue? Is it going to be fixed with a future update (I can wait because I really like this product if it works like it promises).
- Is it a hardware issue? If yes..
- It is related to devices with specific serial numbers or all the devices have this issue?
I need to know the answers to the above queries because I need to take a decision:
The store where I bought the device has offered to me two options; a replacement or a refund.
I really want to give another chance to Ionic, but I am not convinced that there is any hope to resolve this issue.
So, please give as an official feedback about this issue and do not leave us keep searching to find tips or workarounds that do not resolve the problem.
I am looking forward for your reply.

@djpapakas I hope you're doing well! Thanks for taking the time to post your inquiries about Ionic GPS connection. Thanks for sharing the experience you have had with your watch. I'm glad you already spoke with the store in which you got it.
In this case, there shouldn't be an issue wit your Ionic's GPS. I'd recommend checking this helpful article for reasons why GPS could be loosing connection. Try restarting your Ionic, this should refresh its inner system and help out.
If you keep experiencing the same; best thing to do will be to accept the replacement the local store is offering for you to get back on track.
Keep me posted!

@djpapakas your post has been edited by the moderator and yet you received no single answer to any of your questions. If you have option to get refund, this is what you should do. People get into this toxic relationship with Fitbit accepting even several replacements and not even considering there are other, more reliable devices in the market. I experience losing ( or not even locking on ) GPS only during runs. When I cycle GPS works however today it chopped 1km from my route. For running I stopped using Ionic because of the issue. It became distracting looking every few seconds if the GPS is there or not and whether it even locked on. Do you experience similar issue when you track cycling? If you don't cycle, you may perform mock-cycling. Just start tracking it and run instead. I am curious if the problem is related to one particular activity.

I have the same issue. Heart rate spikes above 140 and GPS is unreliable. I fully charge, reset, and sync before long runs. Nothing has worked. It’s very frustrating and tech support isn’t doing anything apparent to fix it. I’d never purchase a Fitbit product again.

My GPS lost most of my run today, really put me off my concentration- I switched to my phone half way through. I'm disappointed my fitbit 3 packed in after 9 months, so I bought the updated version. So very disappointed 😞
