My Ionic suddenly went from holding charge for 4 days to less than 6 hours. I cannot even go to work and have a watch at the end of the day. It's dead. What good is fitness watch if it is not even a watch? This is an ongoing issue because there are numerous posts about Ionic suddenly not holding charge but they choose to ignore them and just keep selling inadequate products. Fix this and notify those that need the fix, how to implement it. Otherwise offer up a free replacement to those that paid good money for a defective product.

@RandyZich Welcome to the Fitbit family! Thanks for taking the time to share the situation you are experiencing with your Ionic not holding a charge. Thanks for sharing your feedback regarding this.
This usually happens as a result of usage. There are some apps or clock faces that will drain battery faster. Also, the use of GPS may cause this and other factors. Please check them out here in order to improve the battery on your Ionic.
Also, please perform a restart on your watch. This is always helpful as it refreshes the inner system of your device.
Hope this helps. Keep me posted!

Sent my Ionic back in Dec., because it did not hold a charge. Support was good and they sent me a replacement, BUT, I am sure it must have been refurbished because it lasted only 5 weeks and the battery did not hold a charge once again. By now, it was out of warranty and they only warranty, the replacement for 30 days which tells me they don't have much confidence in their replacements...I had bought the warranty and sure enough, they could not fix the replacement and gave me a credit on my amazon account.. Fitbit offered me 25 percent off certain things, but their prices are also higher than the going rate and offered 40 percent off their ionic which is also jacked up In price. I have a credit at Amazon where I purchased it, so the 40 percent credit does me NO GOOD, SO, I do more research, decide to buy the Versa, but the thing that irks the heck out of me, is NONE of the accessories that I have purchased for BOTH ionics do not fit the versa. What a racket this is. I loved the ionic but what a waste of time and money, dealing with tech support, then reloading music etc. on a replacement, then having to ship back the replacement for repair, and losing all the music again because they could not fix it. Very frustrating but the $80 in accessories sitting here is upsetting because now I want to replace all of them on the VERSA so that's another $80 or so. Why in the world would I ever want another ionic when they cannot even fix their battery problem? I am very hesitant to recommend anything at this point to my friends because I have wasted time, money and am left over with accessories that cannot be used..What a shame. I really liked this watch.

I am having the same problem. ...Ionic not holding the charge for more than a day or 36 hours. My Ionic is less than a year old, I purchased it directly from FitBit.com. The issue with not holding the charge is accompanied by also not syncing all of my daily data (such as number of steps per hour). This has been going on for about 2 weeks.

I already tried all of the things you suggested, but the Ionic is still not holding a charge for more than a day. What else can be done to remedy this situation?

Hi, just spoken with Fit Bit customer service, apparently the issue is related to a Firmware upgrade being required....Worth a try.

My battery also suddenly stopped holding a charge longer than 6 hours. It was purchased for me as a retirement gift in January 2018. It stopped holding the charge in March 2019 while I was skiing. I have tried everything suggested in the forum to fix it and nothing is working. It is on charge more than it is on my wrist. It doesn't even hold a charge while I'm sleeping. Am I totally out of luck getting this fixed? I can't believe the company will not at least give you the option of sending the watch back for a new battery. This product is way to expensive to not have a decent warranty. I loved it when it worked, but I would never ever suggest anyone buy this watch. I am totally unimpressed with Fitbit. I totally agree with absolutely everything posted by Recovery Runner.

I suggest you contact the fit bit customer service. They did some diagnostics with me via the sync process and established the Ionic was faulty and replaced it free of charge. Give them a call....
