Ionic Screen Coming Out

I'm going to keep this short and to the point. I've been a loyal fitbit user for quite some time,  I've owned a ton of their products and generally like them.

The Ionic is a faulty by design in it's workmanship and they will likely fail either within your warranty or right outside of it.  My first Ionic the screen came completely off the watch from bad adhesive within 6 months.  They sent me another watch and it failed within 8 months.  This time moisture got into the face and caused the circuit board to fail.  Keep in mind I don't swim,  so this is just from normal everyday use.

After tons of research,  it's known that the knob on the side of the Ionic is letting in moisture slowly but surely and causing the watch to fail. One of the first signs is a smokey white cloud look to the display and then horizontal lines through the watch face.  All of this is caused from moisture and an improper seal and bad button design.

I spent hours on the phone with support with India ;(   and they kept me on hold forever only to tell me that they will not stand behind the product since I'm out of warranty by a few months.  My issue with this situation is that I paid $300 for this watch and two watches could barely make it a year.  If you're having good luck outside a year I can tell you that you are most likely living on borrowed time and the watch will fail very soon.

I talked to a friend of mine in the business and told me that Fitbit knows that the watch has inherent issues with it's seal, but it's too expensive to do a recall so they're dealing with frustrated customers on a case by case basis.

If you want my advice,  sell your ionic now before it's broken and no longer sell-able.  If you're like me,  you probably love your ionic, but you will thank me later if you heed my advice because one day you will look down and see the seal has failed.

I know I sound frustrated and bitter,  and some of that is true,  but If I knew then what I know now I would of sold my watch and invested in another company.  I'm not saying I won't give fitbit another chance,  but right now I'm very saddened with their customer service.  There customer service was incredible for the Surge,  they always did the right thing,  I just don't understand what happened.

Very frustrating: I have had three Ionic devices in just over a year and each had the face plate fall right off. The last one fell off while I was asleep in my soft fluffy bed!

Tragic part of all of this is that I grossly underutilized the device, didn’t even go swimming with it. I do not trust this device and don’t see a point in even replacing it with another as I am quite certain that it would not last beyond single digit number of months.

Ive been using Fitbit devices since the very first model, ionic being the only device to date keeping me from getting an Apple Watch... should have known better

IMG_5319.JPGGood evening.  I too will keep this short.  I'm having the same issue with the LCD screen coming out.  This is the second time the Fitbit Ionic was replaced and now the replacement if faulty.  I've been a fan of Fitbit since the beginning and I've had many of their products.  I contacted their support and the best they offer is a 25% discount code to purchase another Fitbit.  Really Fitbit!!!  You know for a fact that there is a manufacture defect with the Ionic LCD coming out.  Fitbit quotes, "there are some factors that are beyond our control like usage, storage or weather changes that affect the watches capability to function to the fullest". That's unacceptable!!!!  The replacement you sent me is defective and you tell me that it's out of warranty?  I would hope that you would do better to keep loyal customers.  This has set a bad experience for me and offering me a 25% discount to purchase another Fitbit with similiar issues will not work for me.  Do the right thing and replace the Fitbit or offer me the option to upgrade at no additional cost.  Do the right thing Fitbit.

Of course, I will not buy from FitBit anymore. Not Ionic, not anything else.
The screen of my Ionic fell off just by itself, without any mechanical impact ot water immersion. It was purchased 18 months ago.
They do not offer anything to attract customers to buy once again.
