I received the Ionic watch as a Christmas present in December 2017. It has been working fabulously since... until 2 days ago. I charged it for about 15 minutes just to get me through the day (up to 38%), put the watch on, and within 10 minutes I noticed that it was unresponsive.
I tried the soft reset (2-button), I tried the hard factory reset (3-button), and it doesn't take a charge (even after cleaning the connection with rubbing alcohol per technical support technician). The watch is totally unresponsive.
My $300 Ionic is bricked after 15 months of use. Sadly, it's 3 months over warranty. So instead of a replacement, I was offered a 25% discount towards a new device.
Fitbit support had replaced several of my older [and cheaper] trackers due to the faulty wristbands. It's a shame that they don't stand behind their newer [and WAY more expensive] devices when the hardware/software itself stops working. I am sorely disappointed.
If anyone has any suggestions on how to revive my Ionic, I'm open to suggestions.

I've been reading through many of the forum posts in regards to this exact behavior with the Ionic. Specifically related to devices purchased in December 2017. It seems that Fitbit has been authorizing out-of-warranty replacement for some users and not others.

I have the same experience. 16 month Ionic is a brick, was offered 40% but honestly I’ve had such a terrible experience with their customer service this time around, after spending $300 for something that didn’t even last 2 years that I don’t want anything to do with Fitbit anymore.
