I contacted customer support at fitbit with live chat.  They said there is nothing else i can do and found out my ionic was 2 and 1/2 years old which the warranty is only 1 year.  But they did give me a 25%off my next one on the fitbit app.  I paid 187 for a new one, well 200 with taxes.  At least they gave me that.  They didnt have to.  They also gave me an option to get other fitbits with a discount, one was 40% but cant remember which one it was.  Good luck

I finally contacted customer support and had the same results...a 25% off a
new one. As you said that is better than nothing. Guess I will go that
route and hope the new lasts longer.

Same thing happened to me and they tried to rip me off and sell me another one as well with 25% off. Hope you didn’t fall for it because you can get an Apple Watch (series 1, 2, or 3) for the same price or cheaper. PLUS, Apple watches have many more features, a MUCH better warranty, and they will last you YEARS and YEARS. (Unlike the Fitbit product shelf life of a little over 1 year.)

Funny how many of us had our Ionics die on the same day....no help from live chat other than the 25% discount and if you look at all the threads on the same issue...totally seems like throwing good money into the garbage...so sad because I loved my Ionic!

i ordered one but it was on back order to august 23.  I didnt want to wait so i canceled my order and found one on ebay cheaper.  Its an open box but it says its new.   I don't want to go to the apple watch.  I have alot of friends and do challenges weekly with all of them on the fitbit app.  I don't want to miss out on that.   Good luck.

Same here, though I have to say it happened in stages. At first it didn’t register anything anymore. No steps, no floors, no distantie, no heart-rate. Nothing. Then, vertical lines of the display went dead. The dat after that: nothing on display anymore and charging doesn’t work either anymore. In other words: DEAD. So sorry about this. Purchased it end of Oct-2018. So roughly about 9 months later fun is over.

Fortunately you are still in the warranty period so you can request a replacement. Mine died shortly after a year of ownership and Fitbit refused a replacement but offered a discount to buy a new watch. Nice try but I'm not buying anything from a company that builds fundamentally defective products. The hardware of the Ionic is the worst I have experienced in a consumer device with constant failures.
There are tons of reports of the battery simply dying and refusing to charge. Mine was working fine until the battery ran out at night and refused to charge the next morning. Zero damage or misuse - it just stopped working overnight.

A $260 product that can't make it through a year of very moderate use is a failure in my book. These devices have defective batteries. With anyone with Ionic's that still work after a year, make sure you never let the battery run down. Always keep it charged to at least 40% to avoid the batteries dying completely.

I just ordered a new Fossil Carlyle HR. As a smartwatch the features run rings around anything Fitbit has. And it has a 2 year warranty.
