Something happened while attempting the update 3 months ago. All fixes etc suggested were tried. It's a hunk of useless metal now. Hasn't worked since. So many people with this issue. I think the update was a scam to have the ionic become useless with a new one on the market. This company is trash. It has been a $500 nightmare of uselessness and I really feel ripped off.

Sure feels like a bait-n-switch, but note that the Versa is suffering pretty much all the same problems as the Ionic. It's a company support problem. I don't think the programming team can figure out what's causing the issues.

Yes bait and switch is a great term. Thanks for the heads up on the Versa. I'm not impressed with this company at all. Not sure about apple though. Hmmmm it's sure making me consider it. Thanks.

I face many problems after ionic updates too. GPS still searching. Battery drain very fast about 6 hr. That make watch not practical to use. Why support team does not consider allowing us to downgrade to old firmware to see whether it solves these problems. It's a brick watch now. Please consider this.

Contact support directly, demand a replacement pebble. I got one in December after the update did the same thing to my watch.

For me the update resolved some issues while introducing others.
Solved:
Water intake - seems to work much more consistently now. I no longer get the issue where I log water only to find it logged to a subsequent date on the app. Or losing sync altogether.
GPS - Locks GPS everytime now whereas before it was hit and miss.
Notifications - The problem of having one or more notifications refusing to be deleted and whenever that happens new notifications will not be accepted is *MOSTLY* gone. (still had this happen to me once then I had to restart the watch).
... And I like the new left-button long-press shortcut feature.
... And the new multiple clockface feature is a godsend too.
New issues:
Time accuracy - after a long period of not syncing, the watch time can be off by more than 10 minutes within one day. Crazy.
Heart Rate Tracking feels less accurate than before. This is anecdotal observation so not 100% sure.
After a proper shutdown (under settings.... about... shutdown), the watch will no longer be able to start by long pressing the left button. You now have to force restart by pressing left / bottom right at the same time.
