Ionic and music cpntrol

I've noticed several threads on the Ionic and Versa boards where tgettracker is not able to control the music player while headphones are connected to the phone.

I generally use the car radio to control the music. last week i tried the ionic. With OS 1 i was able to control music from my wrist while the phone was connected to the car radio. Last week i could not get the ionic to see the phone. Simply turning off the radio allowed it to connect and music was easily controlled.

Today i tried a Bluetooth speaker with the phone, and the ionic refused to connect to the phone for music control.

It's great to see you around @Rich_Laue

As a first step I recommend performing the restart, if you're still getting trouble you can take a look at the the steps listed on the How do I control music with my Fitbit device? article.

Let me know how it goes!

Just an update. today i opened the music control screen on the Ionic. The controls popped up with the music title being displayed.

Now i turned on the Bluetooth speaker, yes the Ionic was able to connect.

20 minutes later i was still able to control the music on the phone from my wrist.

So...the Ionic needs to be the only Bluetooth connection to the phone or needs to connect prior to a speaker or ? I have spent a few hours trying to get this expensive watch to perform a simple task (control music playing via my phone) and have yet to actually accomplish it. Despite all the boards and questions I have read and steps I have tried, I have never gotten a screen on the Ionic devoted to what music my phone was playing with controls to change it. About as close I have come is accessing the notification from the music player and sometimes being able to change the song from there. Please advise any help. Thanks

After the OS 2.1 update that seems to be the case for me.

With the previous OS versions I had no problems.

However im not sure if it was caused by the firmware or the app update. My Fitbit app updates at least once a week, sometimes twice. I'm running the beta version.
