Does anyone use Runkeeper?
my question is, can I put my phone away, in a pocket or armband and use the Ionic to start my run on Runkeeper? rather than having to faff about with the app on my phone then put the phone somewhere safe whilst setting off on a run! I know it has compattable apps but not sure it works this way?
I’m guessing it works like that for Strava but all my running has been done with Runkeeper over the years 🙂

@K8ojo There is no way, at present, to initiate a run in Runkeeper from the Ionic. This may change if Runkeeper create a suitable app but for the moment, if you wish to use the Ionic to track your run, you’ll need to start a run activity on the Ionic and then export it to Runkeeper when finished, using the connected apps feature. Alternatively just use your phone and Runkeeper as you normally do.

If your Fitbit and Runkeeper accounts are synchronized (I also use myfitnesspal which might be a factor) you can initiate the run from your Ionic (I usually leave my phone at home) using the regular Fitbit tracking. When you finish and synchronize your watch, the data will be imported into Runkeeper including GPS and heart rate data.
