Does anyone have a Moto G6? If so, does it work with the Ionic?
My DH just got a Moto G6 and it's sweet. I want one too but worried it won't work with my Ionic.
Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the Fitbit Community @tracylg1 and @Daybee8! As @NellyG mentioned, the G6 is not included in the list as shown in the image below:
Note that the devices on this list have been confirmed as fully compatible with all features of Fitbit devices and the Fitbit app. While a phone or tablet may not be verified as fully compatible, the Fitbit app may still work with your device.
Our team routinely test new devices to ensure full compatibility with Fitbit devices and the Fitbit app, and are constantly working to confirm compatibility with new phone models. Be sure to verify that your phone meets the minimum operating system requirements.
Also, I recommend setting up and syncing via a device listed as supported or using a Windows 10/Mac computer with integrated Bluetooth 4.0 running the Fitbit Software.
Please keep in mind that when a device is not supported we cannot guarantee its functionality with the Fitbit app. It might work at a certain time and then it can stop working out of nowhere after an update. This is because the app is not optimized to that device and any change could impact the performance.
Let us know if you need further assistance!

I need to know to because I want one and Fitbit's supported devices list is a joke. I've had phones on the list that don't work, and the list is small.

Why can't Fitbit get these watches to work with all phones? Very frustrating.

I totally agree .... it's frustrating. My Charge 2 worked fine with my Moto G6 ... now my Charge 3 works on occasion. Why can't Fitbit make the new version 3 work like the 2 did???

This supported device list is just a joke in my opinion and it shows how vulnerable the Ionic hardware/firmware is.
Since the only interface is Bluetooth it would make sense to have supported Bluetooth versions, but to have specific supported phones is generally an indication of poor hardware/software design.
And the list is also outdated: I recently moved from a Oneplus One (which is the only Oneplus device on the list) to a Oneplus 6T (which works better than the One).

Hi guys @Rocket523 and @Tim31415! I totally understand your point guys, as mentioned above, when a device is not supported we cannot guarantee its functionality with the Fitbit app. It might work at a certain time and then it can stop working out of nowhere after an update. This is because the app is not optimized to that device and any change could impact the performance.

Welcome on board @Maury2! As mentioned above, your Moto G6 might have all the hardware requirements to be supported devices but are currently not on our list of supported devices. This means that our Android team has not yet tested them for compatibility and added them to the list. If the device supports BLE (AKA Bluetooth 4.0), I recommend giving the setup flow a try. However, we don't have a time frame on when this device will be added to our list.
If setup does not work, I recommend setting up and syncing via a device listed as supported or using a computer. Our team is always working to test and add more Android devices to the supported devices list, so keep an eye open for updates!

I had issues with my Ionic syncing too but was given the "we don't support your phone" answer. Which is a Moto G6. While i was in the chat I went to my Bluetooth settings and added my Fitbit as a trusted device and it worked fine after that. To which the agent replied, "I'm glad we have got it working properly".....WE? No, I got it working properly, might want to add a note to have users who are having issues to try adding as a trusted device. Anyway if yours isn't a trusted device you may want to try that.

I have had issues with all my android phones no issues with my iPad or wifes iPhone, so possibly down to differences in the Android implementations?
On my current phone (Honor Play) I occasionally have to go into the Bluetooth devices on the phone and "forget" the Ionic. The Fitbit app will then connect. After a few days it might struggle again, at which point I repeat the Bluetooth devices steps and it usually works again.
