After 8 months battery life droppped from 4/5 days down to 18 hours and falling. It's now not serving its purpose, no point in wearing to track sleep (a big plus on FitBit) and finding tracker dies in use!

I believe I have a case open now according to @Fitbit Support on Twitter. It's case #but as I write 24 hours later, I haven't heard from them. 🙂

Hi @GazIonic, welcome to the Community Forums.
Thanks for bringing this to our attention and for the details that were shared, I understand how frustrating this matter can be for you. Let me share with you that the battery of our Ionic was designed to last 5 days, but this also depends on how frequently you use all the features of your device. That said, I recommend you charging your Fitbit device with a USB port from a computer or a UL-certified outlet into the wall and then turn off all the features that you don’t use that much.
After following the above information, please check this help article for more tips and recommendations. This article includes a restart process that will refresh the device's performance.
Let me know if further assistance is needed and if you have any additional questions.

Thanks for the advice here. I've followed the instructions although as I'd mentioned I had already turned off most features anyway. I've now set the screen to 'dim' which is the only change I could have made. I have also restarted. The battery life is still less than a day but let's see if this makes a change. One of my big problems here though is that what I like about Fitbit ARE the features. This is the third device and the third premature failure which is disappointing. For a relatively expensive device I expect it to last a lot more than a year.
