So I charge my ionic last night stayed up late so I could have it track my sleep. The battery dropped 25% over night and it's dropped another 25% I am not using gps on it or wifi any suggestions. Side note I took it off as soon as it hit 100% should it be left on longer. The battery does not last for 4 days but 1 1/2 if I'm lucky

So I charged my fit bit ionic too 100% and it lasted like normal then randomly I couldn’t turn it on and I though it was broken since I knew the battery has been charged the day prior, but I tried every think and put it on charge and it said 0% so I was relieved and thought it was odd but just let it charge up. Ever since from then I will charge it too 100% and it will only last 5 hours and then say 0%, what can I do because it’s brand new aswell??? x

The thing that will distory abd shorten the life if your battery is always running the battery low, sure you may get 4 or more days but why risk your batteries life cycle? Its mych kinder on your battery if you keep it topped so even if your charging when you got 70% or 80% or charge once a day, the lifetime of your battery is going to last much longer than if you do a full charge from 10-20% or less. It just stresses the battery and will shorten its total life span. Its not even recommended charging a battery to 100% even. If yoh sttess your battery to much will limit its total life. If you say got even 80% charge tgan nothing wrong with topping it. Those who boast 4 days battery life must be getting under 30% battery life, which is not to good for your battery in the long run.

It's great to have you here @RVICKERS, @mkenny and @Denodan! Thanks for the details that you've mentioned. Your Ionic's battery life can last up to 5 days but there are some things that can drain your battery faster, so you may want to check these tips to improve your device's battery life.
If you're getting one day of battery life, then this shouldn't be happening. I would like you to restart your tracker and then make sure you're fully charging it.
Your input is truly appreciated @Denodan.
Keep me posted.

Yeah but why try? Its like a certain brand of car claiming a top speed of 200mph, does you mean you should do it? If you always are doing and keeping it at 200mph then will kill your motor a lot faster.
Just because they say ionic will get 4 days does not mean you should. Doing this will reduce your watches lifespan by a long way and they are not replacable. At 4 days time, your battery levels will be so low your wreaking and shorting the life time of your battery.

I'm in exactly the same boat as mckenny. Up until I did the update a couple of days ago my Ionic would last around 4-5 days. I charged it to 100% and it would drain quite rapidly, then charge to 100% again before bed and in the morning it was completely dead. That was two days ago and haven't been able to turn it on at all and will not charge/turn on while plugged into charger. Have also tried the hold down left button and bottom right button but still completely dead 😞

If you guys were getting 4-5 days out of the battery, then would have been very low before recharging so your killing your battery. It maybe not sue to the update, but always letting the battery get very low before charging, a sure way of ending the life of thr battery quickly.
On my drone i have it set the 30% as my low battery warning and no one takes the battery right down as its been shown to end battery life fast.
This is the same reason laptop battery die fast.
I have updated mine but charge every 2 days.

Just because fitbit claims x ammount of days you should not try to reach it.

after about a week and a half of this happening constantly randomly it started working completely fine again, it might be due to the fact I left it on charge over the whole night which so lots of hours over when it said 100% and now it’s great again and I’m kept on charging it if it gets to 30% now and it’s working perfectly, thanks for all the responses

I charge mine when it gets no lower than 45%. 50%+ is far kinder to your battery. Charging it nighthly is the best.
Got a samsung gear sport and charge it nightly. With still 70% charged.
Even though i charge mine to 100% on fitbit and Samsung its recommended to not evrn charge to 100%

Denodan...we all understand your repeated message. Please stop contributing the exact same sentiments over and over. Batteries fail slowly and incrementally, these instances above are not indicative of battery abuse...so please stop lecturing all of us. Believe it or not we all have used Lipo powered devices before the ionic watch.
I'm also having problems with the ionic battery life. It's been fine for 3 weeks and then last night it was at 96% before bed, when I woke up it was dead. O% is seen when I plugged it in. My use and charging have been consistent over the past 3 weeks, so it has nothing to do with using "power hungry features". This is a clear software/firmware glitch.

Well i am not seeing aby change; abd yes we all use Lipo batteries, but most peoole dont know how to extend their life hense pushing the days they can go without charging, instead of a daily charge.
Sounds like you may have a defective battery?

Hi Dr Camp, sounds like the issue I had. I contacted Fitbit and they said it shouldn't be happening and is a battery issue. They've replaced my Ionic

I can't get a day out of my Ionic battery.
4 hours and I'm down to 60%.
And this one is only 2 weeks old the fourth watch I've had since October

Hi Alec,
Sounds like a battery issue, contact Fitbit and they'll most likely replace it. I had a similar issue and they replaced mine.

I’ve had my Ionic since November 2017, and was happy with the battery life. After 24 hours of passive monitoring, with notifications and vibrations on, and automatic syncs, it used about 20%. When running 15.35miles using GPS tracking and listening to music (about 2.25 hours, plus travel time, warm up and cool down), I had about 65% left.
Then, yesterday, it went haywire. After a full charge in the morning and a passive day, I noticed that I was down to 65% by 6:30pm. I woke up at 2:30am and had 6% left, which quickly dropped to 0% and it shut off. I charged it, and put it on at 5am, and by 5:30 was again down to 95%. I turned down the brightness setting, shut off notifications, and shut off automatic sync, so we’ll see, but I think it’s become defective.
