Ionic battery notification

I set up my new Ionic less than a month ago.  The first time, the battery went totally dead with no warning. The second time I had a message to charge the phone.  I charged it to 100% and all was fine until today.  My watch shows 84% today and I just got a message stating -- Your Ionic battery needs charging -( or something similar).  I don't want to recharge the battery again when it was charged 1 to 2 days ago and shows 84%. Should ignore the message, or charge the battery once again? Anyone else encounter this problem?  Thanks for any help you can provide.

@Maggie303,

Give it a charge.

Whilst there is good reason not to keep topping up a Lithium Ion battery all the time, and is best to let it drop to 20 or 30% and occasionally down to ~5% - occasionally topping it up won't suddenly damage the battery.

There are various possibilities for your issues.

Faulty battery.

"Confused" battery monitoring of the device.

Lithium batteries "like" a few full charge/discharge cycles before they reach their full potential. Especially when new.

I'm reluctant to suggest you fully discharge the Ionic though - given the battery issues posted on this site.

A new laptop battery should have an initial 3 or 4 full charge/discharge cycles down to 4 or 5% so it maintains good capacity through its life.
