I bought my Ionic during the first week it has been available, and up until now, it has been working just fine. I have been taking it off and charging it when I have gone into the bathroom to take a shower, every morning before I head out for the day and every evening before I head to bed. Usually, after a charge to 100% in the evening, it has been down to the mid-90's in the morning -- 94 or so. During the day, after a charge to 100% in the morning, it may be down to around 90% or so in the evening. Bottom line, it was always quick and easy to get it back to 100% while I was in the shower.
But just a few days ago, I started seeing the battery percentages in the low 80's. Then the low 70's. Yesterday, after a 100% charge in the morning, the battery was DOWN TO 51%. If this keeps it up, my Ionic will not last a full day without needing to be charged. At which time I might as well toss it in the trash and move on to some other company's technology. I am NOT happy to see this three-hundred-dollar purchase utterly die as I watch it over the course of one week.
I have NOT been doing anything strange that seemingly made this happen. It didn't happen "right after a firmware update" or anything like that -- I have been updating things as they have happened, but the last one was months ago. I did NOT install any new apps or anything like that. It was just functioning normally, and then it went to hell in a handbasket one day, and it just keeps on getting worse, every day.
I have been doing daily "reboots" with the Ionic. I have uninstalled every app that I could uninstall. I am using a very simple watch face. I have fully uninstalled the Fitbit app on my phone, and reinstalled that. Nothing has helped. It simply appears that my Ionic's battery is going to die within the next week or so. By all means, if you can suggest anything else I could do, I would appreciate it, but I think I've gone through the gamut of what can be done with the thing, already. I can tell you one thing, though -- if this thing dies on me, I sure won't be buying a new Ionic, given how this thing hasn't lasted much more than about six months.

Last night I started with 99% at bedtime and woke up 7 hours later with 21%. This is the first time that happened. 😢

@SantiR I'm now on my third recharge after letting the battery run flat each time. The first time it lasted seven days, second time it lasted eight days, third charge was on Saturday and we are now Tuesday and battery is at 70%
It seems that letting the battery run down fully is the answer, rather than doing top up charges each day or two.
FitBit Support never did respond to me...

I got my Ionic in April. Its great! Well was, until the last two weeks. The charge goes down almost 70% in 12hours when I sleep. I have to charge daily now.
I used to charge every 5-6 days.
I have only txt notification and phone notifications on. No email. I work out 4x/week 1-hr. I used to see the battery go down only ~15% per day when doing lots of activity and getting lots of notifications...
Now I am stuck charging almost 2hr/day to keep it topped up.
What happened all of a sudden?
I tried restarting/updating firmware, restarting 10 more times. turning off all notifications...turning off the heart rate monitor(which is the main reason I have it)....nothing really helped!
I am really frustrated and need some help on what I can do next to get this awesome little watch back to how it originally worked.
I am familiar with charging techinques and always was letting it go down below 20% before full charge but now I cant risk it going that low cause it will die in a matter of hours then.
Please help!

I’m having the exact same experience. I do use the notifications and the exercise app, but the battery life has waned in a big way over time. Help would be appreciated.

Fitbit posted this in another thread:
“We're aware that some of you may have noticed a fast battery drain on your Ionic watches after completing this firmware update. Our team is investigating the root cause of this issue and whether it was caused by this update or other factors are involved.”
“I'm sorry to hear that some of you are still having problems with the battery draining faster than it should with the last firmware update. Thank you all for your patience with this.”
See if it helps to call Tech Support at the number linked below. Depending on the circumstances they will replace your Ionic. They replaced mine because it crashed randomly during Exercises. Many others have reported fast battery drain as well.
I do use Exercise often so my battery drains quickly when GPS is on. I did a stats page a while back that showed how quickly the battery drains.

It's likely to continue to drain until it won't turn on or hold charge I have had 4 do the same over last 12 months and have given up I would advise speaking to fitbit and requesting a refund and changing to a different model.
