Ionic can't connect to phone & Wi-Fi Settings won't load

I first noticed the issue on Saturday night when my Ionic would not connect with my phone's (Galaxy S7) Bluetooth when clicking the available Ionic for pairing. It would just fail every time. I did resets of my Ionic, even shutting it down. I noticed that the time was off between phone and watch (watch slow) then it magically course corrected and synced just fine.

This morning, I went to go sync (after doing so yesterday morning) but the app cannot sync or find my watch at all. It can be seen in Bluetooth, but does not give a specific error for not wanting to pair.

I looked in my About section on the watch, and it says there is no IP address and my Wi-Fi is off. When I go to adjust my settings in the Fitbit App, I just get a spinner icon and the settings never pop up.

Ionic is using 27.70.7.14 - App is v3.14 (202434460) and Galaxy is latest software version too. It seems like Wi-Fi toggle should be something to be able to do on the watch itself. I've deleted/reinstalled Fitbit app, and restarted my phone/watch several times this morning.

Mine magically decided to connect again. I think after I completely reinstalled the Fitbit app and then reconfigured the settings, it synced again. I'm not sure what the deal was, but I think it's fine (for now).

I am having the same problem with my 6S.  I have tried shutting down, uninstalling the app, in bluetooth settings I removed the ionic now it can't even find it.  I am also trying to set it up as a new device yet my phone is not finding it...I have shutdown, uninstalled and removed everything and now nothing.  I am beyond frustrated.  For the past week I was having problems with syncing, it kept saying problems with wifi but not letting me open setting for wifi and then the app was not finding my device...I have wasted so much time searching this site for ways to troubleshoot and nothing is working.  Very disappointed that fitbit technology has so many issues

I'm having these exact same issues. I reinstalled the app. I un-paired and re-paired my Fitbit. I've Shutdown and restarted both my watch and my phone, several times. I even gave up and tried to connect to a PC but it turns out I don't have a "dongle". I have the same version of Ionic as you, but my phone is some form of "Moto", Android.

I'll be curious to hear if yours acts up again soon. I did the same thing, but it snyced once and then not again. A day or two later, it randomly was able to snyc again. I'm so frustrated. It had been working really well until last week.

Mine quit syncing again Friday afternoon. I've restarted my devices, but haven't gone through deleting app again. I'm currently 5 minutes off on my watch from my phone. Something is screwy here.

I don't know if it was just dumb luck or what, but on Friday I uninstalled and reinstalled the app (again), and then shut down my phone and turned it back on, and also shutdown the Ionic and turned it back on and then it has worked ever since. Granted there's been a constant "Fitbit Sync Service" notification on the upper section of my phone ever since, and I've been too afraid to turn off my Bluetooth for fear of jinxing it, but it has worked and successfully tracked a long run. Good luck. I'll let you know if it takes a turn for the worse.

I repeated the uninstall/turn off method and was able to successfully connect again. I've turned off and was able to sync again after that too.

Dis you lose previous data when you did the re install?

No, you just have to log back in once you reinstall the app, and all of your info will appear. When you hit shutdown on the ionic and then power it back on, it's just like turning it on and off. Recently I had to switch my phone to a super old Android phone of mine (long story) but I found that it would only sync to the app on that phone when it was disconnected from my wifi.

I'm sorry.  I know it's beyond frustrating.  I hope one of these suggestions works for you. Did you try making your Bluetooth "forget" the Ionic and then turn your phone off and on and re-pair it? When I do that,  I also go to settings on the Ionic, under Bluetooth, I scroll down to "Restore Music Controls" and tap that until the little blue word says "pair". I feel like it makes a difference.
