Hi, I'm having a big issue with my Fitbit (iconic) device, more and more I'm waking up to 4.000 odd, 6.000 odd, 12.000 odd, etc steps. I've tried resetting my device, hard resetting it, uninstalling it, uninstalling app, refreshing sync, everything I can think of and nothing seems to work. Is this something that is common and can anyone help?? I've been a Fitbit customer since 2016 and this is the first issue I've had and it's quite disheartening because their support (or lack thereof) is appalling.

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @MarieH22.

Thanks for the details shared in your post and for already trying to resolve the issue. I understand how you are feeling about this situation and recommend confirming if you have a MobileTrack paired to your Fitbit account. MobileTrack lets you use the Fitbit app without a Fitbit device by using your phone's sensors to track basic activity data including steps, distance, and calories burned. For more information, see How do I use Fitbit MobileTrack? MobileTrack may override the steps tracked by your Fitbit device and I recommend removing it from your Fitbit account if you're not using it: How do I remove a Fitbit device from my account?

You can remove the extra steps from your daily total by following the instructions in this help article: How do I delete steps and floors in the Fitbit app?

Hope this helps!

My ionic stopped tracking heartbeat and steps for several days. Last Friday I thought I was able to have it fixed. However, it started to show 150 bpm while I was completely at rest and registered more than 40 K steps while I was sleeping at night. Then it finally died again. Just shows time and calories (don't even know how). Very disappointed.

I have since discovered that it is the app/phone (Samsung M31) I'm using that is the problem mobiletrack defeats the object of using a Fitbit tracker in my opinion. The problem is still happening but I use my tablet to sync the watch rather than the phone.

Bonilla have you tried a hard reset?? I tried a hard reset, a normal reset, unpairing, deleting app, restarting phone. Then I tried a different device. Like I said in my other post the problem still happens so I use my tablet.
