Ionic cuts off regularly during swim, and deletes data, battery life down to less than 24 hours

Started using the Ionic in the pool, changed all the settings so its the right length of pool, but every 10-20 minutes it crashes and deletes all the data. I restart the exercise and it crashes again. I swim roughly for 2 hours a day, and its frustrating for nothing to be tracked. I swim breaststroke normally. Started to delete walks/runs now.

Battery life is down to less than 24 hours. I don't use music through it, have any notifications, or anything, purely 2-3 hours of trying to track exercise a day.

Have tried turning off and on, and re-setting but no luck as of yet.

Mine is doing exactly the same think. Ran 10 miles today and while the steps show that I did the run, only the very last restart shows.  Going to contact support. This is my fourth Fitbit (3 surges, each a replacement due to issues, and this ionic itself a replacement to a failed surge). Can’t say I’m impressed with the QA on these devices

Just got off the phone with Fitbit support, and the latest “upgrade” has a serious “glitch” (their term; I say flaw).  The ionic will randomly shutdown your run/swim/bike/excersize app and lose all reference to it. They claim they are diligently working on a fix but refuse to send out a general notice to let people know about the issue.  To me this makes the device no better than an expensive watch.

Thanks for this information, I was thinking I was having this issue due to my having just uploaded my Pandora account to the Ionic.  I will give Fitbit to come up with a solution before returning it for a full factory refund.
