Ionic dead and won't charge

I had the "run" app foung on my watch and forgot to turn it off when I was finished. In the middle of the night I received a notification that my watchws battery was low. I got up to charge it and the screen said 0%. When I connected the charger the screen went black and has been that way for 4 hours. My watch is less than a month old and is clean. So is the charger.  I have done everything suggested in the forums. I guess I need a replacement. This is ridiculous if this is what happens when the battery is drained.
