Ionic Display GlitchHi there,

since this morning the display of my Fitbit Ionic is not working.

Just stopped working and overnight discharged the battery from 90% to zero.

I bought them just 2 months ago.

What could it be? Until this moment the watch worked perfectly.

Hi- searching through the forums for his to fix the screen going black. I tried the reset followed by factory reset- which now puts me in a worse position since I can not see the pin/code that is supposed to show on the display.
unfortunately, I followed the advice of the Fitbit Team and now find that I can no longer even track my steps etc...

please help me to resolve this.
fyi- Fitbit not used in shower or other water.

I’m having the exact same issue. Worked fine for almost a year then last night all of a sudden the display went away and it kept vibrating. The first time I tried to reboot, the Fitbit icon flashed on the display. Tried rebooting several times and the issue still remains.

I have the same issue but I got the watch last black Friday so I don't think I am in warranty. Is there something that can be done?

Nothing.
They will wash their hands off and won’t do anything if not in warranty.

Thanks

Howdy,

My Ionic now has this same issue.

The display got weaker over the past 3 days, then stopped illuminating all at once. It's fully charged, as it was on the charger for 8 hours today. I tried the factory reset steps to no avail. I feel it vibrate to indicate it is factory rebooting, but still no display. What the hell happened?

My ionic did the same thing today.  It started with a ring in the display area on the edges.  Then around lunch time there was a long line down the middle going from top to bottom.   Then shortly after that I felt it vibrate and the screen has been black ever since.  I have owned it for some time now.  Wore it in pools and in the shower because it states it's water proof.   Truly disappointing.  How can I get it repaired

I’m having the same issue my screen has stopped working?

My screen literally just went out. Happen with 24 hours. Started having issues scrolling through last night and to it just goes out and looks like a scrambled TV. From reading everyone else’s issues this seems very common. Rest of my family has Apple watches but I stuck with FitBit....sounds like a made a mistake.

Mine is doing the exact same thing it has worked perfectly until today but now it is glitching. It happened at work today; I am an emergency room nurse so it was very inconvenient for my watch to decide to not work while on shift. It is connected to my phone and says there is still 88% battery left, also is still tracking my steps and the green sensor on the back remains lit up.  Twice today it decided to light the screen back up but that’s been it.

Well my watch lasted around 2.5 years

same failure as described by other users.

You will first experience battery life reduction (at most getting 1 day with no GPS or any extra features), HRM  (green light absent), watch will want to re-calibrate sensors.

then display will not work - intermittent

display will fail comletely - at most you will only see the backlighting

I suspect the display module fails - and indication would be the higher than normal current consumption (low battery life).

You can call it a design flaw (poor component selection) - Fitbit will not admit it, their only obligation is the 1 year warranty period (probably longer in EU community).

I don't know enough about how the watch works but I suspect the display driver (circuitry) fails, failure mechanism for this to happen??

My watch lasted 2.5 years - still much too expensive to spend ever couple of years.

I have received a 25% discount valid for 30 days? for the pleasure of another hopefully 1 - 2 years for tracking / data collection.

.....now lets see how much of this post will be "moderated"

Well at least you received a 25%.  I didn't even get a response to my post.

Only reason I got another Fitbit was I misunderstood my wife thinking she was asking me for one.  It's been sitting in a drawer for the last 3 years. Once this one fails I will be looking for a different brand hopefully that will last a lot longer than this one.

Fitbits is the worst. My ionic lasted 19 months and crapped out. My wife's versa 2 took a dive after 14 months. They openly admit that there is a defect  but refuse to take care of their customers other than offering a discount to buy another overpriced watch that won't last even 2 years. Anybody buying fitbit these days are just flat out gullible

My display has done the same thing. So annoying. This is my second iconic. First one the battery would not keep a charge. Now this one the display is blank

and will not work. Ready to switch to Apple as I am tired of spending money on a watch that doesn’t work. What can be done???

Hi there, I’m having the same problem. Did you end up fixing it?

No there was no fix for that issue on my watch.  Let us know if you get a response or not. I had to get another one.

No luck. Tried the hard reset a few times. Absolutely not worth the money if the watch continues to break and only last about 12-18 mos. good luck. I’m moving on to Apple.
