A few days ago, my battery ran down to 0%, and I charged it like normal.
Once it was charged, I put it back on and went about my normal business. Later that day I checked my stats, and noticed something odd. It wasn’t really tracking anything. I restarted the device and then it just went into a full scale ionic meltdown.
The device started hyper tracking... I was laying down on my bed and my steps were continuously climbing. My heart rate was through the roof and the device would not stop. It was like it was permanently engaged and the home screen would stay on.
I took the device off, and it continued to carry on with this hyper behaviour. There was nothing I could do to stop it, so I just let the battery drain out (Which it did very quickly due to overworking), and then put it back on charge.
The device is now simply fried. It doesn’t track steps, sleep or heart rate, and simply only works as a time piece. I’ve tried restarts, unpairing, resetting, changing clock faces, pairing again... All to no avail. is this a common thing? For a premium priced device, this is a very disappointing defect.
Any ideas or suggestions?

Sadly the issue hasn’t been resolved, and the device is now useless.
This is my 2nd ionic now that has failed due to a hardware error, and while the first was replaced outside of warranty, the replacement device also dead now, and Fitbit will only offer me a discount on another device.
Not the outcome I was hoping for as a Fitbit premium member, and my faith in the products and support is now gone.
my current ionic will not track steps, sleep or heart rate. Despite support telling me to reset it in every possible manner, the device is now just a watch.
To rub salt in the wounds, the device is now stuck on charge on 0% and won’t charge since I did the firmware update.
