Until a few weeks ago, my Ionic only used about 15% of the battery at night (~ 8 hours of sleep). One morning I had to realize that the battery was dead. It had 0% battery left, even though I went to sleep with about 50%. From that day on, my Ionic uses about 30% of battery per night (if not even more) and I cannot tell what caused this change in behavior. No new apps, no new firmware (at that time at least) and no new settings. I even did a factory reset, which didn't change anything. The recently released firmware update also did not solve this problem.
The daytime consumption has not changed though. My Ionic uses about 25%-30% of battery over the whole day, even including two hours of workout tracking. That is the same amount of battery consumption for almost double the time (24 hours a day minus 8 hours sleep = 16 hours awake = twice the time I am sleeping)! So the behavior is very strange.
I have to charge the Ionic pretty much every evening now in order to keep it alive until the next morning. That is really annoying.
I have read a few other threads about other Fitbit devices showing similar behavior, but the solutions there did not help or apply to my problem. I can hardly believe that it is a hardware failure, then again I am not aware of any software changes either before the problem occured. Did anyone experience something similar with his Ionic??

@WowSuchMagic Welcome to the Fitbit Community.
I'm sorry to hear that your Fitbit Ionic battery is draining at night. Thank you for the information provided and for performing a factory reset before contacting us.
At the moment, we haven't received any information about problems with the battery during the night. Besides the procedure you performed you can perform a regular restart by following the steps on this article.
If this doesn't work, for further investigation, please provide me with the following information:
- Do you wear the Ionic at night?
- Do you leave your watch on a nightstand?
I'll be waiting for your response.

I am wearing it at night, so it can track my sleep.
I have made new observations:
- if I simply turn on sleep mode in the quick settings menu, while leaving the display brightness on auto and the display activation also on auto (meaning it turns on by movement), the Ionic uses a lot of battery at night sometimes
- if I switch the display activation to manual prior to enabling sleep mode, the battery drain over night constantly drops to ~5% or less
I guess even though sleep mode is supposed to turn off the automatic display activation, it appears that the screen turns on at night sometimes, which drains the battery. Only if I manually disable the automatic display activation before enabling sleep mode, the screen stays off at night.
