Ionic exits run mode at 1km marker

I have an infrequent issue with the Ionic dumping out of a run at 1km, rather than just registering a split time. 

Did it on the last 2runs, but had been more than 3 weeks since it had previously happened.

Done the usual basic activities of restarting, checking firmware, etc but keeps cropping up. Particularly annoying during the 5k Parkruns.

Ideas?

If you have auto-lap enabled for 1KM (it sounds like you might); this is an issue several of us have encountered and reported. One workaround I use is to interact with the Ionic watchface prior to reaching the 1KM mark (or whatever distance your auto-lap may be set to). No, it's not a fix. Yes, this has been reported for more than a year (and acknowledged by Fitbit).

I’ll try to remember to switch it across to heart rate during that first km from now on 👍
